When it all started he was a simple doctor, good at his job and even better at his bedside manner. He gave hope to his patients, giving them the strength to keep fighting no matter how severe the prognosis. His work gave him purpose but it didn’t satisfy his innate desire to make the world a better place. Day in and day out he had to watch people turned away from the healthcare they needed due to lack of insurance. Coming from wealth himself he never had to experience such hardship. While he couldn’t understand their position he was equally unable to process the greed of the world to deny these souls the medicine to save their lives. Eventually it all became too much for his conscious to bear. Using his own savings he set up a small practice in a downtrodden part of the city, offering care for those unable to afford it traditionally. For well over a year he was completely on his own. His workload was enormous but he took it all on without hesitation. After the practice was firmly established volunteers began to trickle in. At first it was support staff, often former patients of his who wanted to express their gratitude. Soon enough though others in the medical field of similar mind showed up to offer their services. Three years after the practice was founded it became a full fledged hospital. He was no longer the only one supporting it financially as donations had finally began to flow in. It was at this point that he was drawn into the light of the public on a large scale as he was featured in several magazines for his work. He even appeared on TV a couple of times, though he never allowed the limelight to focus on him. Instead he deflected it to the work itself, along with the staff who were doing exceptional work alongside him. This pattern continued uninterrupted for several years. It didn’t change until his powers manifested while consoling a patient. [sub][h3][b]⋙: Ｐ Ｏ Ｗ Ｅ Ｒ Ｓ[/b] [sup][b]＆ Ｆ Ｉ Ｇ Ｈ Ｔ Ｉ Ｎ Ｇ Ｓ Ｔ Ｙ Ｌ Ｅ[/b][/sup][/h3][/sub][hr] [u]A B I L I T I E S[/u] [b]V I T A K I N E S I S[/b] As one would imagine The Saint is a healer of impressive ability, able to heal life threatening injuries/diseases/etc along with being able to sense such things. However he is also capable of applying the reverse, reopening old wounds and inflict old illnesses, though this he does reluctantly and only under duress. [indent][list] [*][b]Healing Touch[/b]: This is one of the two primary ways in which he is able to heal, by laying his hands over the injured and applying his power he is able to remove damage or disease. This method is very slow though, taking time that may not be available during the heat of battle. [*][b]Wound Transference[/b]: The second of his healing abilities this one is faster than the former but it comes with a cost. Rather than simply healing this application allows him to take the injuries and other ailments that he removes and inflict them upon himself. This ability is a one way street as he cannot transfer them to someone else. [*][b]Regeneration[/b]: A self explanatory ability that only works on him. He heals quickly from lesser injuries and his blood loss is limited from more severe ones. This is the only ability that he doesn’t have to activate to use. Note- The healing rate of injuries caused by Wound Transference is much slower than it would be if it had been inflicted on him personally to the point that without also using Healing Touch on himself he risks losing consciousness. [*][b]Past Pain[/b]: With this ability he is able to use his power to cause wounds long since healed to reopen. While a devastating skill it’s effectiveness is lowered immensely by the fact that he has to make contact with the target in order for it to work. [*][b]Plague[/b]: Related to the previous skill this one allowed him to cause old illnesses to haunt the victim once more. He breathes out a fine mist that when inhaled creates the resurgence of past ailments. While he can use it at a farther range than Past Pain he rarely does since it would increase the chance of an ally breathing in the attack. [/list][/indent] As a supporting Enhanced he is among the elite, looking after those he fights beside ready to dart in and patch them up to the best of his ability before moving to the next ally. However he is weak in physical combat, needing to land a touch in order to have any hope of winning without outlasting his foe or being rescued. Along with this Wound Transference can severely limit his options, few as they are already. [u]C O M B A T[/u] Patrick avoids direct combat whenever possible, focusing on supporting his comrades instead by keeping their injuries at a minimum even if it means taking them upon himself. When he is forced into battle he relies on his ability to heal himself to keep him alive long enough to either use one of his attacking powers or for a friendly face to come to the rescue. [sub][h3][b]⋙: Ａ Ｐ Ｐ Ｅ Ａ Ｒ Ａ Ｎ Ｃ Ｅ[/b] [sup][b]＆ Ｐ Ｅ Ｒ Ｓ Ｏ Ｎ Ａ Ｌ Ｉ Ｔ Ｙ[/b][/sup][/h3][/sub][hr] [u]L O O K S & S T Y L E [/u] His clothing choice when on duty reflects his roots as a doctor, a snow white coat covering his upper body, often tied around the waist to prevent excess flapping, and comfortable slacks adorning the lower half. Beneath the coat is the one major difference from a regular doctor as he wears a plain black T-shirt. When off duty he dresses much like a regular person, t-shirts, jeans, etc. [u]P E R S O N A L I T Y T R A I T S [/u] [indent][list] [*] Charming and warm, these traits allowed him to help his patients beyond medicine [*] Intelligent, as one would expect given his numerous years as a doctor [*] Trusting. This is both a positive and negative trait as he can trust until it is too late to do otherwise [*] Caring, again one that would be expected given his past. While it has mainly been seen reflected towards the poor and downtrodden he cares deeply for all innocents. Passed away at the age of 50 when Patrick was 20. When he was alive William pushed Patrick to greatness, something that Patrick is grateful to this day. [b]Elizabeth Bleakley:[/b] Mother. Passed away at the age of 55, 10 years after his father when Patrick was 30. Her passing was as quiet as the woman had been in life. She was very caring over both of her children, giving them as much love as she could. [b]Chloe Bleakley:[/b] Sister. Age 35. In their youth her and Patrick had been close and this remained the case as the years went by. To this day they stay in contact as much as possible. [b]Jayden Bleakley:[/b] Niece. Age 10. While he had been brought up in a strict manner he threw that to the side and spoils his niece, sending her gifts when he can. She means just as much to him as his sister as they are the last of his family. Friends: [b]Ryan Kurhajetz:[/b] First Doctor to join his non profit practice. Age 53. Patrick and Ryan had worked together prior to the non profit and they had become fast friends back then. It only took year before Ryan joined up and after Patrick left to join The Coalition he took over executive command of the entire network of hospitals the two had established the last few years. [b]Ellan Irvin:[/b] Joined his practice a year and three months after it started. Age 27. Ellan joined up as a nurse but after Patrick left he gave her command of the original hospital, she had become well liked there and more importantly well known. She was a perfect fit, and whenever she has any questions she knows she can contact Patrick. [u]Y O U R L I F E S O F A R[/u] [indent][list] [*] He was born into old money, though unlike some he was raised directly by both parents with love [*] Despite their wealth he was raised to value money and as such only received what he earned. This was determined by good deeds, part of the reason he turned out as he did [*] In school he was well liked due to his nature, always willing to lend a hand to those in need. [*] College and medical school went by in a blur, near the top of his class throughout the entire experience. [*] Worked at a couple of hospitals before the need to do more rose [*] Started up his small practice and watched it grow [*] Powers manifested and he joined up with the recently formed Coalition so he could do even more [*] Mayor assassinated and entire team defeated at the hands of another Enhanced.
