In the aftermath of what could truly have been called a Night of Carnage, Mary finally understood the true horror of what it meant to stay in this game. She simply gazed at Felix with her hands covering her mouth; it was like she was watching an action movie, with Felix taking on a literal killer robot with nothing but his attitude. In a way, she was impressed with the courage he showed. She managed to stand back up, only to fall on her butt as spikes shot up and separated the already imprisoned group. She was terrified out of her mind, not sure what to do; she saw with a glance that Mondatta actually attempted to escape by bending the spikes; they actually did bend under his inhuman strength.

Then, she saw a chivalrous figure take to the fight, and her heart was filled with hope for his fellow Infinites. 
[color=pink]"Shona!"[/color] Mary stood up once more holding the spikes around her, and cheered Shona on. 
[color=pink]Yeah, go Sho-Shoooo!"[/color] She was so happy to see how Shona was victorious against the creepy marionette. She was filled with hope of escape, and she believed Shona would pull through. 

Cute sword-wielding heroines always do, right?

But as it turned out, there was no semblance of justice or righteousness, as Mary came to realize when Shona was killed. At first she kept cheering her on. [color=pink]"Come on, you can do it Sho-Sho! Don't give up!"[/color] But her words came upon deaf ears, and her lips trembled. Her leg trembled. Her entire body shook. She felt like the sky was going to fall on her, like she was pulled into a dark abyss.

It was despair.

[color=pink]"Sh...Shona..."[/color] The streamer stumbled with loose gait once they were released, trying to step closer to Shona's corpse, but falling once again, only to be caught by Mondatta. [color=pink]"We never shared that bottle, huh? I...I..."[/color] She tried to hold back her tears, but it was impossible; she cried loudly, her nose running as she held her face. [color=pink]"SHOOONAAAA! WHYYYYY!"[/color]
The monk could do nothing more than sigh. [color=gray]"I was too late..."[/color] He recited a buddhist prayer to the Infinite Knight, and added: 

[color=gray]"May you rest in peace."[/color]
