Yo boss man, sorry if this seems an obvious question, but how much in our posts do you want us to, well, leave up to you

EX:

Captain Teller opens a fridge, do I write "Within the fridge is an apple and three carrots" Or do I say "He takes what is within and moves on to do X, Y and Z"

I figure it's probably the former but I tend to ask these kinds of questions to avoid stepping on any toes.
