The cafeteria man lifted his hand up over his head, the parrot hopping onto his finger. The cafeteria man lowered the bird to the level of his face and smiled. With his other hand, he gently brushed the bird on the back of its head. "Aw."

Gently, he placed the bird over the counter above the heat lamps. "Did you walk into my cafeteria to eat or complain about the service?" he glared at the small girl. "I don't have the time to be picking on little girls. If you're gonna eat, here." the cafeteria man grabbed a platter, a plate, and plopped a slab of meatloaf onto the plate before handing it to Rumi. "If you're not eating, get out of my cafeteria."
