I'll just move forwards with this. Mako doesn't necessarily have to have met Daler before picking up his position, though as staff, she'd definitely know [i]about[/i] him and his reputation for terrorizing problem students. Rather than handing off the position in person, he'd have relinquished it when he heard someone better in that area of counseling was moving into the staff.
