Mercy's almost done bar personality. She performed brilliantly at school, and when she graduated with a medical degree and joined a hospital, quickly rose to become the head of surgery at a very prominent Swiss hospital near her hometown. Whilst there, she pioneered a breakthrough in the field of applied nanobiology, a subject that was currently experiencing a massive surge of interest. The technology she pioneered could rapidly improve the condition of even life-threatening illnesses and surgery, and it quickly became used in many military forces across the world, much to Ziegler's displeasure. This, however, was what attracted the interests of Overwatch, and although her anti-war sympathies initially caused her to turn down the offer, once it was made clear she could use her research to save lives and, more particularly, innocent lives, she came around. The nanobiology would later be included within her Cadecus staff, allowing for a constant stream of the small creatures to quickly mend broken tissue and armour. Angela quickly rose, much as she had done with her hospital, to head of medicine in Overwatch, and as Overwatch's head of medical research, Angela sought to leverage her work for healing in frontline crises. The result was the Valkyrie swift-response suit, which Ziegler herself piloted on many Overwatch missions. Despite her overall contributions to Overwatch, she often was contradictory to the overall aims of her superiors and the organisations goals.A good example was her development of what would become Ana's biotic rifle, which she despite Torbjörn providing assurances that the device was only intended for healing, Ziegler maintained that Overwatch was going down a slippery slope and that she would only conducted research in the field on the condition that it would not be used for offensive purposes. When the group was faced with a series of allegations, Ziegler was interrogated in the hearings conducted by the United Nations. In light of the fight between Overwatch members Jack Morrison and Gabriel Reyes, Ziegler admitted that the outcome had been inevitable. They had drifted further and further apart ever since Morrison had been chosen over Reyes for the position of strike commander, and that rift had widened despite her efforts. When the recall was announced, she was found within the middle east. Whilst unsure about rebooting the group, Mercy reluctantly agreed, and returned to Overwatch on the condition of her being the Head of Medical Research once more, and that she wouldn't be bugged to dress up as a Witch for Halloween. Though she spends most of her time caring for the broken and dispossessed in crisis areas around the world, Dr. Ziegler can be counted on to don her Valkyrie suit whenever innocents are imperiled.
[sub]PERSONALITY[/sub]
[sup]▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔[/sup] Unusually for someone working in a paramilitary organisation, Mercy is staunchly anti-war.
[sub]COMBAT ROLE[/sub]
[sup]▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔[/sup] Support- Mercy's staunch stance on anti-war has not changed, but in the face of the new Omnic crisis, she has donned a new suit, the Valkyrie Mk.2. This allows her for a wider variety of ariel maneuvers, and has her blaster wrist-mounted, allowing for her to fire with her staff still in hand. Primary Ability: Cadeceus Staff Little has changed about the magnificent staff that the good doctor carries. It can still provide healing, which is improved should Mercy stay out of harm's way, and can increase the damage output of any ally that comes under it's beam. These are still two seperate beams however- Mercy hasn't cracked how to conjoin them, although she is working on it. Primary Ability: Wrist Blaster Mercy's Cadecus blaster has been included within the wrist of her new Valkyrie suit, allowing for her to keep her staff out whilst firing. The projectiles now move far faster- about the same speed as a bullet, however the damage is still poor, making it, for most circumstances at the very least, a strictly last-ditch attack. Secondary Ability: Soar With the upgrade to the Valkyrie suit, Mercy can now soar in any direction and at any time. Her new suit includes two 'charges,' which allows her for brief bursts of speeds similar to Pharah's thrust, and, of course, she will safley flutter down once she stops using the charges. Tertiary: Guardian With Angelic Descent and Guardian Angel combined into one, Mercy found herself capable of adding another device onto the Valkyrie suit. When this is activated, the suit will send out a pulse of light, temporarily destroying all projectiles within the radius of a few feet around her. This is best used to prevent her allies from being hit, although if she is on death's door, this can also be an incredible advantage. Ultimate: Ressurect "Heroes Never Die!" This classic cry has stayed with Mercy, and has changed very little. After all, if it isn't broke, why fix it?
