Here's Harold's new frame. How do you like it? Framewerk Code Name: ELBRUS
Signature Weapon System: 1x TYPE 300 MODEL 1 GUN SYSTEM: A slow-firing, semi-automatic gun system notable for its reliability and effectiveness given its weight and caliber class. This weapon's main strength is its ability to deliver effective and accurate firepower in conjunction of Elbrus' advanced fire control systems. In the case that computerized fire control is unavailable due to battle damage or other reason, a secondary autocannon system (Designated "Type 301") of much smaller caliber and less specialized construction is fitted on a separate appendage underneath the main gun which can be used for manual sighting shots. The Type 300 Model 1 Gun System features a variety of shells with which Elbrus can engage most targets effectively. These shells are: A.) APFSDS-A - Armor-Piercing Fin-Stabilized Discarding Sabot - Adamantium. These super-heavy shells are made from an ultra-dense Adamantine alloy. Through sheer kinetic power and penetrative ability, any Frame-tier enemy hit by these shells - even by a glancing blow - is sure to stagger. If they are not destroyed by the first shot, then subsequent, swift discharges will be sure to destroy the foe before it is able to recover completely. B.) HEFRAG-TF - High-Explosive Fragmentation - Timed Fuse. These shells are Elbrus' main weaponry against soft and/or massed targets. These shells use a substantially smaller cartridge than the Type 300 Model 1's armor piercing array, resulting in a lower muzzle velocity and therefore slightly more complicated aiming. However, this has given the shell itself more space for its high-explosive and fragmentation payloads. Its configurable timed fuse allows it to be detonated precisely in the midst of the foe and in mid-air, allowing for the most effective culling of enemy hordes through a combination of high-explosive shock and fragmentation shards. This shell can, as a last resort, be used to combat enemy air or spacecraft by using it like a traditional time-fused anti-aircraft shell, although its low muzzle velocity makes it unsuited to the task. C.) SMOKE - Smoke rounds. Self-explanatory. These are used to provide cover on the battlefield for Elbrus and its comrades. Elbrus is normally not given a large quantity of these in sorties. The Type 300 Model 1 Gun System has a fire rate of 15 rounds per minute. Elbrus' advanced fire control system allows for all of these shots to be effectively aimed against an unobscured but erratically moving target the size of a standard 10-ton freight hauler up to 30 kilometers away using APFSDS-A shells, and up to 8 kilometers away for HEFRAG-TF shells. The Type 300 Model 1 Gun System is also able to provide limited artillery support up to 60km away with its HEFRAG-TF shells, although it is primarily a short-to-medium-range direct-fire weapon and is not suited for this role. The Type 301 autocannon subsystem is fed with an internal belt that alternates 1 armor-piercing shell per 5 high-explosive shells. Its limited service in more conventional, non-Framewerk weapon platforms has shown it to be an excellent tool against enemy infantry and other soft targets.
Secondary Weapon System: MK. I GENERAL-PURPOSE CRUISE MISSILE MODEL "ROSTOSOV": Elbrus is equipped with an anti-ship missile system capable of taking down ships of frigate type or lighter that has been repurposed for the special needs of a Framewerk. A powerful weapon, it is a one-shot system with two reloads aboard the Elbrus. R&D has fitted the Elbrus with this system after discovering that extended armoring of the Framewerk resulted in large diminishing returns. They opted, then, to provide it with more firepower. The Mk. I GPCM System is mounted on Elbrus' left side. The Framewerk has a maximum capacity of three missiles - one readied and two others as reloads to an autoloading system. After a shot, it takes ten seconds to reload the system.
Weight Class: Medium, Line Elbrus serves as part of the Line. That is, it is expected to engage the enemy in open combat with its gun and missile systems - and ultimately persevere. It is expected to destroy the enemy through superior effective firepower using the advantage given by its excellent fire control systems. Moderately armored at the front and lightly armored elsewhere, it is expected to take some hits and remain nonetheless combat effective. The Elbrus is hypothesized to perform well in large open spaces where the Type 300 Model 1 Gun System is able to perform its intended role to maximum effect. Elbrus is not supposed to withstand sustained heavy fire and if put in such a situation, should retreat immediately to an area of advantage. The Framewerk's armoring is considered to be merely acceptable for a war machine of its weight class and is therefore unsuited to leading assaults. Elbrus is also expected to generally perform poorly in close-quarters combat (especially in urban environments) for the same reason, as in such an environment there will be plenty of opportunities for the enemy to get to its thinly protected backside.
