For years it has been a city that has gone by without much significance, being large enough to have everything a city could want, but small enough to avoid attracting any kind of national attention. Life in Ferdinand is as typically mundane as in any other city, for most citizens that is, but the city's history is dark. It's underground is notoriously dangerous, prolific and incredibly subtle criminal groups working in the shadows. Many have spoke out on the strange, unexplained and often supernatural events that they have experienced within the cities boundaries - though these rumors are often scoffed at. The truth of it all is quite hard to believe - and the fact is that vampirism, a curse (or gift, depending on your angle) of blood, runs rife within some of the most important individuals within the city limits. Ever since the days of colonization, these vampires have had a powerful presence in Ferdinand. Although it is not the only city with people of it's kind, it is quickly becoming the most significant, as unlike cities such as New York and Philadelphia, who have dozens of vampiric sects and groups, Ferdinand has two main factions of note - and war is brewing between the two. For decades Ferdinand was watched over in the shadows by the Ravenwing, a group led by one of the most esteemed figures in this hidden community - Damian Hall, or, as he was known by the outside world - Henry Wilson, businessman and millionaire. Behind closed doors Damian was a strict and highly intimidating patriarch, governing the cities vampiric population with extreme caution, valuing the unity and relative peace that the Ravenwing managed to maintain - this, of course, was sometimes disturbed by "rogue" vampires and minor sects, but these individuals seldom involved themselves in the Ravenwing's business, purely because they were well aware that they would be destroyed if they tried anything. However, in the early-80s, a splinter group of the Ravenwing was born, known in the underground as Clan Whyte. Clan Whyte, led by it's namesake, Francis Whyte, was conceived as an opposition to the Ravenwing, disagreeing with the policies on non-vampiric humans. Clan Whyte cared little for the safety of civilians and always followed their animalistic drives - letting their members feed whenever, however, with no regard for who they hurt. This was quite contrasting with the Ravenwing, who had always valued subtlety and only fed when necessary. Tensions grew between Whyte and Hall, the two once being friends, now bitter enemies. Peace, however, was maintained, as the Ravenwing still held much more power in the city, and Clan Whyte lurked in the shadows, actively avoiding contact with their rivals. Throughout the late 80s, however, Clan Whyte were slowly becoming more and more of an issue for their more powerful counterparts. The Clan had alerted many humans of their presence, which had led to the formation of a private militia of vampire hunters. They had also grown rapidly in numbers, reaching in to the 100s and quickly gaining on the population of the Ravenwing. The two factions are now, very literally, at each-others necks, and tensions have been high for some time. Despite Damian Hall's eagerness to reach a peaceful conclusion, Clan Whyte have very different intentions. Intentions that will see Damian Hall dead, the Ravenwing in tatters, and the city's underground thrown in to it's most dangerous period yet.
Hi guys, just a little bit I've written up to try and get the interest check. The OOC info will be more in depth and include all the details on the questions you guys will probably ask (i.e. biology of the vampires, etc.) I also want to press that this is NOT a teen/high school RP and I'm not going for a Twilight vibe at all. Essentially the tl;dr is we are members of a vampire clan in a fictional city, and an underground war will spark between us and our opposing faction, as well as some involvement with rogue vampires, vampire hunters, and some cops too probably. Lemme know if you are interested. Either Advanced or High Cas.
