Anyways, I do have my issues with the current map.I put it into points:
1.) It's somewhat featureless which in turn makes it crowded. If there are more features then people find it easier to make smaller nations.
2.) Landmarks are too big. Mountains, forests and everything are too large on the map. Again contributing to make it feel small.
3.) It doesn't show the New World. Since colonialism is going to be a major thing that should get relevant very soon. Heck, some countries may have a headstart in that for all I know. Their territories must involve some colonial zone with their colors.

[@Cyclone], if you don't mind I post a couple of map ideas I found which could be interesting:


[hider=1.) - Real World]This game might be high fantasy but the most accurate way to show colonialism is the world where it actually happened. Eurasia is Albion and Africa would be (ironically) the Commonwealth. The New World is obviously America.I include the map example in a link because it's otherwise a wee bit huge:

[hider=2.) - Strangereal]I bet you're familiar with this. Yes, this is the world map from Ace Combat. It's one of the best designed ones you can find thus I feel it'd be an awesome place to put our nations. And again, you might remember this from the fantasy alternate WW2 games from the past. IMO it has the advantages of the real world map without its negative (people are turned off from playing a world like ours)

[hider=3.) - Worluk]Setting to the less known RPG known as "World of Chaos". The map is drawn as if it would originate from the middle ages which is why it's a bit strange looking. Plus side? It has maps for every single continent. So if you wish to go super detailed you can absolutely do it.
