[u][b]Appearance[/b][/u][indent]Ian is a five foot twelve black man. He's a little over average for body weight, thanks to his musculature. He has dark brown eyes. He keeps his black hair shorn and his face clean shaven. He has no visible wounds are marks with which to identify him. He doesn't have any fingerprints, nor palm prints nor foot prints. He's worn them off over the years. He's most often seen in dark, nondescript, raggedy clothing. [/indent][hr][hr][u][b]Personality[/b][/u][indent]If there was one word to sum up Ian it would most likely be Paranoid. Of course if you ask Ian he'd say calling him paranoid was being nice. He's obsessively paranoid. He treats everyone like they're personally out to get him. He never keeps the same routine. He moves about often. He never uses what he considers his real name. He lives a very subtle and mysterious existence. Everything about him he keeps close to his chest and doesn't let anyone in. Ian is always cautious in all he does. He likes to think before he acts. Nothing he does is by accident. He's a meticulous planner. He likes to have all the facts, which is nearly impossible and it drives him crazy.

Ian is quiet and soft spoken whenever he has to interact with someone. When he speaks his accent is hard to place, if indeed he has an accent at all. He avoids eye contact and typically limits how much time he spends in one place. He has not been known to break laws nor cheat anyone even if he's in a bad part of town. Keeping his nose clean is a good way to stay under the government's radar.

Keeping his distance serves another purpose. Ian doesn't like to see people suffer. Oftentimes if he sees a child struggling on the streets he'll leave them food to find or a few coins. He cares a lot for the little ones. He also helps out the homeless disabled if he's able. If there's a mutant who needs hiding he will lead them to a safe house or to someone who might help them if he can do so without attracting attention.[/indent][hr][hr]
[u][b]Powers/Abilities[/b][/u][indent]Duplication[indent]Ian can make an exact duplicate of himself at will. Ian usually hesitates to call his other self a duplicate or copy. The other Ian [i]is[/i] Ian. He has all the same memories, habits, emotions, personality and so on. If one dies the other does not. Both can split again and into infinity as long as they are able. 

Making another self is not an easy process. It takes a lot of energy and concentration. He's gotten better about it and can usually manage the separation in under five minutes. The energy consumption is the main factor to limiting how many separations Ian can do. Typically Ian can split once a day but he runs the risk of extreme exhaustion and starvation. He can conserve energy by reabsorbing his other self later on and thus regain part of his energy. Reintegration, as Ian calls it, also merges both their knowledge and experiences while apart. If one Ian is wounded and other is not it's about 75/25 if the wound remains upon reintegration.[/indent][/indent]
[u][b]Weapons[/b][/u][indent]Ian keeps a small gun on his person along with a knife. He's not super proficient in either of these preferring to use stealth and misdirection.[/indent]

[u][b]Bio[/b][/u][indent]Ian was born and grew up homeless. He doesn't remember his parents at all. His first memories are of him and another kid playing in the gutter. He doesn't know where the name Ian came from, but as far as he's concerned it's his name. Whether he named himself that or his absent parents did, doesn't matter to him. All that matters is that the name is his. The name Trace on the other hand was given to him by the homeless communities he's drifted into over the years. It's most often in reference to him leaving no [trace] due to his lack of prints (hands and feet). 

He's always (as far as he can remember) been self sufficient. Though that's not to say he's never been in a bad situation. He's been abused, molested, beaten and betrayed. When he was six his mutant powers manifested. He was being attacked by an older kid and one second he was one person then he was two. Even at the young age Ian knew what he was and how bad it was. He and himself fled the scene, scared and confused. He ended up reabsorbing the other Ian once he calmed down in his bolt hole, a small space between walls in an abandoned building. 

When he emerged he was sold out by one of the old women the homeless kids affectionately called [i]Grandmother[/i]. When the government drones bore down upon him Ian once again split into two. One of him escaped. One of him didn't. It was then he learned of the terrible hunger and exhaustion that was the payment for his abilities. This event taught him two things. First was trust no one. Second was to never stay separated from himself for too long.

So Ian kept moving. He hitched rides on buses or trains or even just walked to different towns or cities. He never stayed in one place for more than a few months and always kept to himself. He stole when he had to. Most of the time he worked under the table making barely enough to survive. Even now in what he assumes, his early twenties he maintains his transient life style.[/indent]

[u][b]Other[/b][/u][indent][list][*]Ian is self taught. He likes to learn whatever he can whenever he can. He has taught himself a lot of things like reading and even writing.[*]You can tell by how Ian speaks that he has no formal education. He doesn't sound like a back water hick but his grammar isn't 100% perfect[*]Ian has a soft spot for abandoned animals. He often picks cats or dogs off the streets and tries to care for them.[*]Ian is part of quite a few resistances. But he never takes shots at the government. Most of them are just for information gathering.[*]Every resistance group he's apart of he never sees in person.[/list][/indent][/hider]
