The writers fucked Bolin over several times. >__> I still look at season one with loads of confusion. I'm baffled that the writers thought they had pulled something cute and clever off with Mako x Korra. Like if they had done that ship without crapping on Bolin and Asami in the process I could have understood it but to have them both resist and then suddenly want what they can't have and then ruin their friendships over a stupid kiss that shouldn't have happened if logic was being used...Idk man, we're doing our best to make sense of it, that's all we can do. XD
