[i]A sprawling metropolis with a population of 3.8 million, Rush City relishes in having a peaceful and prosperous. Busy streets, populated parks, businesses and pizza shops make up the day-today experience of Rush City. However, it is because Rush City is a sprawling metropolis that the city is no stranger to the extraordinary occurrences which threaten the peace and populace; the city erupts into panic when faced with villains, monsters and jaywalkers which threaten the stability of the city, causing crime and wanton destruction.

But it's at times such as these that the Teen Sentinels make themselves known - a group of teenage superheroes who spring into action to save Rush City from the clutches of evil, time and time again!

Welcome to the [i]Sentinels, Go![/i] OOC! As I've detailed in the title, this is a roleplay takes heavy inspiration from the original Teen Titans television series, and focuses on the group known as the Teen Sentinels, who have given themselves the task of protecting Rush City - a metropolis in California - from threats both internal and external. 

Despite taking heavy inspiration from the TT series, this Roleplay still fundamentally takes place in its own universe (which we'll call the Sentinels Universe™ for the moment) and as such it will be possible for players to create their own concepts, locations, etc.

Story-wise, I'd prefer to have a more villain-of-the-day approach, with a few instances of story arcs in between. Feel free to pitch in any arc ideas that you may have regarding your characters or otherwise.

Tone-wise, we're aiming to replicate the tone of the original TT series. It had a few dark moments, sure, but it was mostly lighthearted and lots of humour in between.

Basically, this is a lighthearted teenage superhero roleplay. Treat it as such and everything'll be fine.

In terms of characters, there's a fair degree of freedom in what you can create.

‣ At the very core of things, we want your characters to fit the tone of the roleplay. This is supposed to be lighthearted, so try to replicate the tone of silver age comics and Teen Titans in your characters. Granted, there's room for some misfortune in your character backstory (death of parents being a staple example), but try not to make anything overly dark. It won't be accepted.

‣ There are a large amount of powers you can choose from, within reason. I recommend heading over to the [url=http://powerlisting.wikia.com/wiki/Superpower_Wiki]Superpower Wiki[/url] if you're stumped for ideas, but you need to write the description for what your character can do.

‣ It should go without saying, but don't create any Mary Sues.

‣ The current list of banned powers are: Character Control (Mind Control, Suggestion, Hypnosis, Puppetry etc.), Time Manipulation, Reality Warping, All-Encompassing Matter/Energy Manipulation (Be [i]specific[/i] about what kind of energy/matter you're manipulating), Kinetic Energy Manipulation, "Absolute" powers, and all kinds of "omni" powers.

‣ Character art is a requirement. The image that you use for your appearance can either be anime or in a more cartoonish style. ‣ The primary rule that binds this roleplay together: Be cool, like Fonz. The only way this is going to work is through collaboration and everyone showing a mutual amount of respect towards each other. This means if I feel that you're being antagonistic to players in the OOC then you will be removed by either me or my Co-GM(s). Any disputes between players should be taken to PMs.

‣ With this in mind, I would also like to say that both I and my Co-GM(s) have the final say in matters regarding the roleplay. We don't intend to abuse that right, but we can definitely end discussions if we deem it necessary.

‣ You can PM me your characters if you want them to be reviewed without the judging gaze of the other players, but I only formally accept character sheets when they're posted in the OOC to give others a chance to give their input about them.

‣ You can also PM me any questions you have. Or ask them in the OOC. Either is good.

‣ Feel free to engage in general chatter in the OOC. It helps to establish that sense of community. Fill it with le epic maymays if you really want to.

‣ Don't reserve any posts in the OOC or Character Tab for a WIP character.

‣ Finally, make sure you keep us updated when it comes to activity. Basically, if you're leaving for more than a few days then notify us. Just so the roleplay doesn't stagnate.[/hider]

‣ The general rules found in pretty much every roleplay apply here, avoid godmodding, metagaming, powergaming, etc.

‣ This is a Casual Roleplay. We don't want to put an emphasis on the post length, as we prefer qualitative posts over quantitative posts. You don't need to write a lot, but what you write should advance the plot and not stagnate the roleplay. Even so, this is still Casual RP, so one-liners should not appear in this roleplay at all.

‣ In terms of post frequency, one post per week in enough. If you haven't posted in a week, and given no prior explanation as to why, your character will become an NPC to be used by the GMs or players freely.

‣ You can post more frequently if you like, but only post after at least two other players have posted. This is just to give room for slower posters to catch up. For extended 1 x 1 interactions, consider making a collab post.

‣ I don't expect it to happen at all, but in regards to any romance in this RP: any Any risque stuff should be taken to PMs.

‣ If you have any story ideas, plot ideas or NPC ideas, feel free to PM them to us or discuss it in the OOC. This roleplay should be a collaborative effort and your contributions to the overall plot are much appreciated.[/hider]
