[@Rhythmloid]So let me get this straight. The mother figure is a robot that looks like a human. It also has a pet holographic teddy bear that tells her how to act normal. But nobody knows it's a robot except for the holographic teddy bear. 

Fairly simple really. When it comes to situations where the emotional reaction is obvious, have the robot act accordingly. During times where it's not so obvious though, let the awkwardness fly. This is where your comedic side kicks in. You can make the robot funny, adorable, and endearing. Always keep in character though.
