It would certainly be useful if she read a book or two by the gentleman. Most books she had read were fiction rather than fact. Perhaps she would be able to ask for a copy, or maybe there was a library nearby. 

All that was for later of course, as she quieted to hear his thoughts about their current objective, the case they had been assigned to solve. She listened intently, taking notes in her mind at his observation. It was true, the village they were in was perfect to stage an abduction and keep it quiet. The forest offered many hiding places to someone determined enough. An animal attack seemed even more obvious if one continued with the 'forest equals danger' point of view.

That sort of thinking, however, could very well be what a kidnapper could be banking on.
