Yeah the round number is nice and technology for the Commonwealth probably is analogous to 1500 (or beyond). It's mostly just Albion that is at the ~1450 tech level.

I imagine four seasons, yeah. Someone who knows more about weather patterns and oceans might be able to say whether or not monsoons would likely happen, but regardless of that Albion is above the equator and thus I don't think it should have the same weather all year round or just a wet/dry season.
