He is incredibly pious, often preferring to pray to the gods before his meals or for the soul of a fallen opponent or ally. A high disregard for indulgences, Brin prefers to give away any extra goods and wealth he can spare to the unfortunate whenever he can spare them. He despises the use of criminal technique, considering such thieves and highwaymen challenged people lost and looking for the warmth of the gods. However, Brin isn't entirely a fanatical zealot despite his pious background, and won't try to push his religion too hard on nonbelievers. He would even try to help them if he had the possibility to do so, given the task is legal and good. Backstory Brin had never known his parents, only that they dropped him off at a church orphanage a few months after his birth. The nuns and monks raised him like they would do with their own children (if they had any), and taught Brin the ways of the gods. He spent his childhood reading various religious books at candlelight and attended sermons whenever the priests would give them. His pious background taught Brin to be the epitome of good, and he'd try to help the nearby villagers with their tasks whenever he had a chance too. Many villagers were thankful for his help, yet whenever they would offer him something in return, Brin would only turn down their offer due to believing that one shouldn't be rewarded just for doing something good in the world. By his teenage years, Brin had noticed an odd feeling rousing in him whenever he helped someone or studied religious texts. He had brought his concern to the elder monk, who was ecstatic when he heard Brin's concern. The monk had told Brin that the feeling was a blessing from the gods, and that he had gained holy powers to help him in his devout life. Brin was rather confused that the gods had chosen him out of everyone, but he accepted his fate. To help him understand his powers, the elder monk brought Brin to the local hospital and told him to meditate on the gods. In sheer amazement, Brin watched in wonder as he healed a infected wound that surely would've killed the injured patient. When Brin had finally come of age to leave on his own, he made a vow to the nuns and monks of the church that raised him. Brin promised them that he would spread their teachings far and wide, and that he would also use his powers for good. Wandering from village to village, Brin became a highly respected person as he aided in various tasks and healed the wounded and sick. He would use his spade, given to Brin by the elder monk, to bury any dead and fight off any bandits he came across on his travels. Life continued to be good for Brin, and he continues to try his hardest to make life good for everyone else, even if he can only do so little.
