I also have dogs. Basically I just like animals.
Admittedly though most cats scare the shit out of me. Dogs I understand, I train dogs. I get how their minds work. Cats, nope.
Had a 110 pound German shepherd grab the left side of my abdomen in his mouth. I had 3 punctures and then about a 6 inch gash from where I pulled him off of me. I muzzled him, gave him his shots, cleaned my wounds and finished another hour or so of work before going to urgent care.
A cat flipped out on me last week, I let go, and had to corral it into a trash bin, then dump it into its carrier and gave it back to it's owner like yup... Sedating this little hell beast before I touch it again. I don't understand cats. They grow about 8 extra limbs when they get pissed and I can't control them.
My cats are precious little angels sent from heaven above though.

I'm a dog person, and I'd rather deal with an sketchy dog than a sketchy cat any day. Some cats go from chill to I'm gonna bite the shit out of you in a second. I don't dislike cats, but I don't think I'd ever have one.

I'm also a fan of birds, ferrets, and herps too.

I like handling birds, but on medicine I've learned that if I breath on them wrong, They basically die. I wanted ferrets forever but I had to clean a cage with multiple in there and the smell was miserable. I don't have a lot of herp experience, other than handling them during presentations.

I have a friend with an exotics license cause he does educational presentations and works with zoos so I'm super lucky and have gotten to work with a bunch of exotics. He ended up with 20 baby emus the other day that I helped him with, that was neat.

Clearly I spend all of my time either with animals, or with people who have animals.

yeah birds are crazy fragile but I like them from a pet side, where I work only sees dogs and cats but occasionally a bird or pocket pet comes in for a nail trim. I know a few people with snakes and bearded dragons and they're all really cool but never had one myself. We had Cockatiels for a bit when I was a kid and my friend has a super awesome Conure. I had ferrets up until a couple years ago they're awesome. If you clean the cage once or twice a day and make sure they're bedding is clean they just have a slight musk. I have co-worker who also works at the wildlife center and she's brought in baby squirrels a few times but emu's sound fun.

Yeah i do part time in a dog kennel, part time assisting, and tech school right now so I'm around animals a lot. Hoping to intern somewhere that does exotics next year to see how I like 'em from a medical side.

I know a Vet whose got a slight bird fear so that's not uncommon. I'm kind of scared of horses.

Nope. All birds. I even avoid the cages at pet shops. I won't get out of my car if there are birds near me or my house. My kids shoo away birds for me if we're in a parking lot.

I almost got into a car accident yesterday by swerving cause a bird came near my car.

I personally like all forms of life as I find them interesting and is part of the reason why I want to become a vet (a very rare job choice here when pursuing the field of medicine).

Anyhow, I'll try to post today. If not today, tomorrow. Life has caught up on my procrastinating ass.
