Oh now I just feel silly for not realizing the obvious. Can Jack participate in the Smash Arena? Are there any rules specific to the arena (no hits below the belt, no dogs, est) that I should know of?

I understand a character can't be in two places at once. Jack likely wouldn't be at the funeral anyway given he wasn't on the mission. I'll say that he arrived late, missed the leave for the mission, then just kind of wandered off the castle grounds to find a place to drink. That works, right?

To the Barrel Roll Bar it is then! Nothing beats a place named after an Arwing maneuver that sells cheap, hard liquor. 

I'll have to work on my post tomorrow however, because it's nearly midnight where I am and I'm on the verge of passing out.
