The cloaked figure who'd had his back turned to Gru before was now giving him his full attention and was currently mouthing things at him. "Why were you behind me? I sensed you slightly but almous nhoglt altslso..." Pale lips continued to move but Gru couldn't focus on any of the words. Instead, where his mind had been previously engrossed on the shiny bit of metal in his hand, he was once again focused on the ball of fire atop the man's head. Gru's forehead began to itch. "You could have gotten away easily but you revealed yourself. I want to know who you are and why you did." He finished, "...Uh" Gru rubbed at the bump with his free hand and stared at the man intently. There were a number of things he'd want to say if he only knew the words. Unfortunately for Gru, all he could really say was "Guh!". His rubbing turned into a determined "pointing" as he tried to draw Chama's attention to the burned mark he'd left on his perfect forehead. When he'd poked himself enough times, he began pointing at the wizard's hair hoping that somehow the message would get across even as another other voice in his head expressed it's doubts. "Did my fireball not hit a wall?" The wizard began again. "You have heavy resemblance to stone walls. For that I apologize." The man smirked, taking a step toward him and putting forth his hand in a familiar greeting. "Please except my apology. No more stray flames from me..." As he stood there with outstretched arm, they both looked down at Gru's occupied grip and the coin wedged between his fingers glinting in the moonlight. The Eye, the enigmatic symbol that had become the center of everyone's night stared back up at them. "What is your name?" The man asked seemingly distracted and having forgotten the handshake altogether. He continued to stare at the coin. "Perhaps you can tell us where you were headed?..." The man's eyes met Gru's, more inquisitive now than they were before if that were even possible. "Maybe we can help..." He gestured to the other three standing in the alley. There was the lizard cloaked in brown with an instrument strapped to his back. His mouth was glowing a dull red and from it, soft pillows of dense white clouds like jellyfish floated toward the sky. Standing next to him was a pale young face framed by streaks of white and wrapped in a menagerie of leather, metal and more leather. Every now and then his form would shift and a glint of light would catch the giant's attention. Small and subtle hints of the dangers the man had hidden on his person. Finally, standing a little ways away between himself and the passage toward the winding steps was the female. Shorter than the others. A pair of goggles held together the nest of grey-brown hair on her head and she was adorned in loose fitted attire that did a poor job of hiding the smudges of dirt and grease pressed into her skin. She stood peering at what was the next leg of Gru's journey... what was still the next leg of his journey. ...This is good. They want to help... lead them... Gru felt the sudden urge to pull away from his new found assailant turned friend. ...They're with you...Gru... Gru, eyes wide like that of a child, put an empty hand on his chest. "Gru." He then motioned with the coin in his hand toward the stairwell that spiraled down into the catacombs and made a final curious groan before turning to continue down the path he'd been lead to follow. He hadn't made it more than a couple steps away from the trio and one past the girl before- "Hello?... Are you-?" And then a scream... the second he'd heard that night and this time much louder. Gru felt his pace quicken, his form passing underneath the dimly lit lamp and the sign that read "Mourning Quarter". Half a step behind him was the girl who seemed to think of him as a wall, the shield that would plow through whatever dangers were awaiting them below. Perhaps it was fear that made her cling to his more gigantic form? Gru didn't know neither did he have the capacity to understand. Although he experienced a range of emotions, fear was one of the exceptions or was so seldom explored that his simple mind forgot it's effects as soon as he did. Gru pressed on mostly out of curiosity and also because he was being told do so by something... that was being awfully quiet. ...I'm being distracted... I can't quite... I... can't... [sup]Gru[/sup]Sum [sub]The City of Teluval - The Alley In Between - Night[/sub] [sub][@Mokley][/sub] "Do you mind? You're breathing on my face."
