[@Vesuvius00] Maria is afraid of the dark for a different reason then why Patricia is afraid of it.

Patricia's fear is because she was being picked on because Johnson's special treatment of her in the Dragonpass Encampment.
While, Maria's fear is something far different it was something she caused and something she highly regrets. And it was at nighttime too.
