Dawkin Trustram

Dawkin nodded and reached for a Pokeball, his hand hovering for a moment between the two before grabbing one with assurance and releasing Wooper to face off against Geodude, though the water Pokémon should be able to handle either of the two opponent's with ease. The pokemon landed on the ground with a bit of a wobble but looked but at Dawkin cheerily enough. Martin's statement to his Bulbasuar made him realize he'd never gotten around to naming his Wooper either. Meh, he'd figure it out, if he was even going to keep the Pokémon. It seemed like Martin's situation with Bulbasuar was the opposite of Dawkin's. Frankly he found the dull looking thing somewhat unappealing, but it'd be a waste of a greatball if he didn't use it. Besides, he had to at least give it a chance. Dawkin gave a smile just shy of a smirk at Martin's last comment, "Is that so? Time to play then. Wooper, water-Gun Geodude!" Wooper faithfully rotated its rather large head and puffed up her cheeks, launching a stream of water at the boulder-like pokemon. Dawkin found Martin's spunk rather invigorating, it was good to see some-else as serious about this as he was.

@Joshua Tamashii - Night

Laurinda, after having her sleeve tugged, stopped to look what the little girl wanted, and then gently sighed as she stopped to let Amelia go over to the group of Pumpkaboos.

When Amelia approached the Pumpkaboos, which were drifting in a specified direction, there was a sudden moment of confusion among the creatures. Some turned with interest towards Amelia, others were determined to drift onwards with whatever quest they had. Yet, they were also exceedingly determined to stay connected as a group. As such, when some stopped and other drifted on, the group stretched as many held onto one another to not part and they formed a long line from one which had stopped by Amelia and one that kept going, until finally the one who had kept going gave up and the whole group came springing back, flowing back towards Amelia, and the different sized pumpkins bounced onto one another and positively crashed into a pile at Amelia’s feet. Despite this, none seemed particularly troubled as the pile of pumpkins on different angles all turned to stare up curiously at Amelia.

‘Pum?’ ‘Boo?’ ‘Ka?’ ‘Ka?’ ‘Pumkaboo?’ Numerous curious calls came up at Amelia, but mostly it seemed they were like they were doing fairly fine.

@Delta44

After a discussion at the restaurant, where she likely had a long and nice conversation with Joshua and Ewan, Ren took her leave and Joshua waved enthusiastically telling her ‘until we meet again’ and Ewan wished her luck. Then, she moved on, seeking the gym…

There it stood. A big, fairly boring building. A four-story building, square in form with numerous banners hanging out, and an imposing sign hanging out at the front of the building. “POKÉMON GYM”… And at the front of the building sat a single sign with a little bit of information about the Gym.

Pureplain Pokémon Gym - Major League
Gym Leader: Dorian
“The Master of Normal”

But, she wasn’t the only one who was visiting the building. There were a couple of older human beings, presumably trainers were hanging out, not really doing anything. In fact, they were looking pretty drained. Pale, hanging over benches or leaning against walls, muttering incoherent sentences…

’What… happened…’

’That is so… unfair…’

’Oooooough… I thought I was Major League level… Just how big is the gap…?’

Well. Despite that, it appeared that the door, two double doors, was perfectly open. If she gathered the courage to enter…

The inside of the building was bigger than one could have thought. But, it felt a bit more like entering into an art-gallery than anything else. The place was clean, with a nice carpet leading inwards, there were fine paintings lining the walls and there were small tables with vases of varying sizes, colors and widths all over. It all looked exceedingly expensive. Along the same side-lines were numerous older men sitting politely, watching what was happening in the middle of the room. Because, despite the surroundings, there was a Pokémon battle going on.

'Go! Hitmonlee! Double Kick!' A young ace-trainer commanded, pointing forward with great passion, and his Pokémon obligued, springing forward its brown body on powerful legs towards its opponent.

Pokédex Entry #106 – Hitmonlee, the Kicking Pokémon. It’s legs can stretch and contract for considerable range and its balance means it can kick from any position. After a battle, it rubs its legs to relax the muscles and release the tension. It runs smoothly with long, loping strides.

The opponent... was a giant creature with enormous gut and blank stare, standing absently like a huge wall in front of the quick kicking Pokémon.

Pokédex Entry #143 – Snorlax, the Sleeping Pokémon. A very lazy Pokémon that typically only eats or sleeps. It is not satisfied unless it has eaten 900 pounds of food in a day, and after having consumed that it becomes lethargic and sleeps. Its stomach acids can dissolve any poison, so it doesn’t have to worry about what it eats.

The Hitmonlee flew forth to kick, when suddenly, with a speed that absolutely impossible with that size, the Snorlax just turned and smacked with a palm into the Hitmonlee's leg, and the suddenly wide-eyed Hitmonlee was sent scurrying off towards the side where it had to break its speed to not crash right into some price-less looking vases.

'Th-the heck!? Hitmonlee, use Low Kick!' The somewhat perplexed trainer commanded, and Hitmonlee quickly turned spinning swiftly and dodging low, way lower than the huge Snorlax's hands would be able to reach, and aimed what would be a super-effective move directly at the huge Pokémon's legs, and...!

The Snorlax casually lifted its leg and then stepped down with perfect timing to step its entire weight onto Hitmonlee's foot.

'LEEEEEEeeeeeeeEEEeeeEEEEEEE....!!??' The Hitmonlee cried out in sudden pain before the Snorlax intentionally let him go, the kicking Pokémon bouncing away from the Snorlax collapsing onto the floor. The trainer was left staring at the Snorlax, dumbfounded.

'How? Since the battle began, you haven't given a single command, yet each of your Pokémon took out mine as if it was sheer instinct.' The ace-trainer asked, his voice defeated. 'On top of that... I am pretty sure that Snorlax did it while completely asleep.'

There was actually sounds coming from the Snorlax's mouth that sounded strangely alike to quiet snooring, its eyes sure were closed and it was wobbling somewhat, but it had sure completely defeated that Hitmonlee.

'How?' The trainer asked again. A sound came from behind the Snorlax, and the Snorlax moved aside a bit to show the shape of a man, previously blocked from sight by the Snorlax's sheer width, but here he had started standing up. He had been seated behind a rotating panel, on which he had been shaping a vase from dirt. Because apparently, he had felt he had time to do such a thing while in battle.

'The question is not ”how did I do it”, the question is ”how will you overcome it”. Either case, do not gain that knowledge from me. I am a challenge to be overcome. Learn from today, and return when you feel ready to attempt taking me on again.' So said an older voice, filled with horrifyingly calm confidence, from a man with experience and class, a man whom had been collectively been agreed by the world of Isson to carry the name of ”Master”. This was Dorian, Normal-type Gym Leader of Pureplain City.

The trainer frowned, and then directed a finger forward in anger at the Snorlax.

'HIGH JUMP KICK!' He commanded, and the Hitmonlee's eyes suddenly burned with passion as it took its good leg and shot itself from the ground like a spring from it, and in mid air it was spinning around as to use the same good leg to deliver an immensely poweful kick at Snorlax. … The older trainer took a miniature sigh.

'Giga Impact.' With the command leaving Dorian's mouth, there was but the tiniest bit of movement. The much slower Snorlax somehow just slightly turned, the long kick of the Hitmonlee seeming like it would make a direct hit to the shoulder of the big Pokémon. Then, a blindingly fast burst of speed. The whole weight of the Snorlax had flown in as if projected into the body of the much lighter Hitmonlee, which absorbed the full force. The strike was so powerful that the room was briefly illuminated by a bright flash, from a physical blow. The aftermath of the blow saw Hitmonlee flying like shot out of a cannon straight into the wall right above the entrance where Ren just had come in from, so she might want to move because a fainted Hitmonlee would soon come falling down.

'A-aaaah...' And the trainer was totally dumbfounded, stumbling a few steps back, before spinning around, grabbing his Hitmonlee and then fleeing out the door. The older men that served as the audience provided a brief applause for their Gym Leader as Dorian returned Snorlax to his Pokéball. Notably, Snorlax was looking around a bit confused, having woken up when Dorian gave the command, automatically followed through with it by instinct, but now was confused as to where he was. The Snorlax vanished from view.

'So.' Dorian said, apparently not minding the sudden bulge outwards that had been caused to his wall above the entrance as he sat down to continue shaping the unfinished vase in front of him.

'What brings you to my humble gym, youngling?' Dorian asked, looking at his vase. … Despite never having acknowledged her existence with his eyes, it was pretty clear he was speaking to Ren.

Eugene had been told to wait, so he stood watching.

Yvonne blinked a little in surprise when she saw Claire kneel down to the dog-fairy-Pokémon hugging Yvonne's leg while Ralia was let out of her arms, and then Claire reached out to pet the Pokémon.

Now, two things happened at once that might save Claire some trouble. Ralia got one considerable forewarning from the sheer, terrifying, all-encompassing hatred that she all of a sudden blew across her emotional sensors. Secondly, there was the fact Yvonne suddenly shrieked at her.

‘DON'T!’ Yvonne cried out, and also quickly leaned foward with one hand lashing down to hit either Jeffrey's head or Claire's hand. Because the fact was that Jeffrey suddenly spun about in her direction, opened his mouth up wide with glaring loathing in his eyes as he bit at her hand.

By some manner of reflexes or interference Claire was spared having her hand bitten, Yvonne grabbing Jeffrey's forehead roughly and pulling him violently back while throwing her other arm around his stomach to keep him in place. Her eyes were kind of wide as she looked to Claire.

‘H-he's been trained to protect me! That is, supposedly, because he just seems to hate and attack everyone but me! I have NO idea what mom did to him to make him like this...!’ Yvonne seemed to have temporarily forgotten to act high and mighty as she tried to deal with the problem in her arms, trying to recollect Jeffrey's Pokéball while also holding him in place.

‘SNUBBULL!’ The Pokémon which the Pokédex had claimed to be friendly and affectionate barked at Claire, clearly showing his opinion about her.

It could also be noted that Eugene and three Skarmories suddenly stood a fair bit closer, Eugene looking a bit startled as he was now ready to attempt potentially intervening.

‘Ooooh? A Water and a Grass type...’ Larry commented with a confident smirk as he then looked down on his Geodude, proudly facing its opponents.

‘... Wait.’ And all of a sudden he realized what an exrutiatingly terrible situation he was in.

‘Poliwag! Jump in front of the Water-Gun and try to use Hypnosis on the Bulbasaur!’ Carol quickly commanded, and Poliwag was quick to jump forward, intent on following its trainers orders, turning to Bulbasaur with considerable speed and then somehow using Hypnosis, likely by somehow shaking its swirly stomach so it looked like it was spinning...

Didn't do <> <> to Bulbasaur. He proceeded to smack the Poliwag with a Vine Whip for the trouble, on Martin's command. The Poliwag cried out in distress and flew out of the way.

‘T-tackle the Wooper!’ Larry commanded, and the Geodude went flying at Wooper. Unfortunately, it couldn't reach in time before a sudden dose of water splashed across its face and the surprised Geodude could but stare at Wooper before it dropped onto the ground, doused and faited. And, um, the Poliwag had been hit from a Super-Effective move from a Pokémon of somewhat higher level, sooooooooo...

Martin and Dawkin were victorious! Martin and Dawkin each gained 455 P for winning!

Though, way too easy a battle to gain levels for.

‘... Uh. Hold on, hold on. What happened?’ Larry asked, bringing a hand to his forehead a little, looking at what just happened.

‘Time-out, time-out! Too fast! Too fast! Eh, uh. Did we win?’ A slightly confused Carol had to ask, waving her arms around trying to reassume control.

Yeah, um. Martin and Dawkin are free to continue their journey if they wish. Haha.

The fight happened in a short round of attacks, with even Martin standing there trying to figure out what happened. Sprout was standing there, unimpressed by the fight, turning his back on the enemy trainers. "Wow, the fight was over in one attack. I know I've been training, but I didn't realize you were already this strong, Sprout. Bet you feel real ashamed to have been beaten by me, huh?"

Sprout took the words as a challenge, growling at Martin. "Hey, we're on the same team now, so why not join us out of your Pokeball? Looks like you weren't slacking either, Dawkin. That was still a good attempt on your guys part. Sometimes things line up poorly, but all you can do is learn from this and move on. On a side note, where did you find a Geodude? I kind of want to catch one of those now."

Sprout continued to show little care or attention to Martin and stayed a distance away. This Pokemon was going to be a bit of work to win over. He shifted the bag on his shoulder, he signed up for this. First step was catching them, the next was getting them to trust him. He had a few Pokeballs in case he saw one on the way. "So Dawkin, lead the way. Team Virtue can't have gotten too far away." It was kind of lousy destroying these two and moving on, but that happens when you challenge someone.

Amelia watched the Pumpkaboos and couldn't help but laugh a bit as they fell in a pile at her feet Looking down at them, she knelt down so that she was the same height as most of them, her partners staying nearby.
"Hello there everyone. I was hoping I could ask one of you to join me on a journey." She said to the pumpkins, wondering how they would react, especially the one that has tried to keep going when the others had all been staying behind to talk to her. She also examined them to see their various sizes and to see if there was a shiny hidden among them, though she doubted she would strike gold twice.

Dawkin Trustram

Dawkin hmed as the enemy Pokémon collapsed before the assault. Well that made him feel a little bad, but honestly there was nothing to be done for it. "I'm afraid not, maybe you guys should try challenging someone your size next time." He said to Carol shaking his head lightly and returning Wooper to his pokeball. While Sprout may be up for walking Wooper traveled at the speed of an advanced toddler and Atlas could move fast enough but with his tiny body it seemed like to much effort to make the little guy go through. He continued walking. "Interesting relation you have with that Bulbasaur, seems rather onesided." He said rather casually, more observing than inquiring.

Lucian smirked slightly at the mans comment before taking a slight bow "Well I'd love to stay and chat but I have pokemon to train, some to catch and hopefully a duck to find. I'll call if I find your dear ducklett" and with that Lucian made his way into the Wet Caverns.
As Lucian entered the caverns he released both houndour and venipide. "Houndour, try to sniff out this Ducklett. Venipide , keep an eye out for any wild pokemon. Tell us if you see anything and we'll deal with them." He ordered his pokemon, as he spoke houndour put his nose to the ground in an attempt to pick up the Duckletts scent while Venipide looked around into the darkness of the caverns, itching for a fight.

Ralia reacted more quickly than Yvonne or Claire could have. The small pokemon quickly hopped in front of Claire, the red horn on the Ralt's head glowing with psychic energy as it stood between pokemon and trainer. She didn't actually attack the other poekmon but if Snubbul took even a single more step towards Claire, the psychic type likely wasn't going to play around. Thankfully, at least Claire had sense enough not to attempt petting the pokemon after that. The redhead practically jumped backwards in a fairly dramatic fashion, holding her arms in a x-like fashion in front of her, scrambling to her feet in a matter of seconds.

"Woaw, for something so cute he certainly, uh, has a lot a spunk." Claire said with a light chuckle. "That's cool, glad to see the competition is so lively, heh~" Reaching down, she picked up Ralia before she did anything. She didn't think the small pokemon would, but she didn't want the two of them to start fighting over something like this. Thankfully the pokemon didn't protest. "Hey, anyways, I should get going. Got a loooot of training to do before I hit the Contest hall. Wanna meet up later and do some shopping or something? We could practice for the contests a bit."

Actions: If Yvonne or Eugene doesn't say anything, Proceed to route 11. Without an umbrella. Because Claire is smart.

@Joshua Tamashii - Night

Amelia kneeled down, though given that the Pumpkaboo came in sizes from 0.3 to 0.8 meters tall, it was quite a choice of height to level with them. After she had said her piece, the different Pumkaboos exchanged glances while still lying in a pile. No shinies lie among their number, however. A small discussion seemed to start taking place.

‘Kaboo?’ ‘Boo.’ ‘Kaboo?’ ‘Pumka?’ There were a few frowns among them, eyeing Amelia. Some of the voices sounded a little more heated than other curious voices. Then, a tiny little pumpkin rolled off the pile and onto the proper side. The little creature was the tiniest of its kind, at barely 30 centimeters tall, and looked kind of happy. Now, it should be noted that among Pumpkaboos larger size are usually favored for bragging purposes, but, well. This one seemed intent.

‘Pumpka-!’ ‘-PUMPKABOO!’ A suddenly much larger Pumkaboo broke free of the pile, rolling out and blocking the way of the smaller one. This one was the full size, 80-something centimeters tall, super-sized and many times heavier. It frowned at Amelia, looking as if to defend the tiny and surprised Pumpkaboo. ‘Pumpkaboo.’ Didn’t look like he wished to leave the tiny one to Amelia. Or he was issuing a challenge, maybe, glaring at Amelia’s Pokémon. That he was protecting his fellow pumpkins.

… But, it was quite notable that a few Gourgeists were floating closer to the scene, their ghastly song filling the air and cursing those who hears it, their smiles wide under their gleaming eyes. Not that the additional ghost-typing the song was adding had much effect on those present, but…

Laurinda frowned, looking at the gheists.

‘Chandelure. Be ready. Even with her affinity, the Gourgeists of these woods are still malevolent beings…’ She cautioned her fire-type ghost, who clearly was there for exactly that purpose.

‘Chandelure…’ And Chandelure did make ready, lowering its arms and the fires on the arms lighting up, making ready for a potential encounter.

Mia made a thankful nod before heading off with Allan down the hill. Now, then. Lucian heads into the cavern, and…

… The cave has a damp smell to it, due to the water further in. It’s a rocky corridor, with rocks and creatures, but up ahead the road splits into three. To the left, there’s a tunnel in to a rocky tunnel which is dry but still lit somehow, if he wished to avoid getting wet. To the right was a wet, partly drowned tunnel which a person would have to wade to get through. Straight ahead starts a fairly sharply inclining tunnel descending downwards, into darkness.

While Houndour likely yet doesn’t know the smell of a Ducklett, he can smell where Mia and Allan came from. They definitely came from the wetter tunnel, and along with that was the smell of other creatures, one likely that of a bird of some kind. They headed to, and came back through, the wet tunnels to the right. If Lucian wished to pursue, he’d have to get a bit wet.

But before that, did a new person just enter the Wet Caverns? Here comes the welcoming committee! Venipede didn’t have to look for long as a couple of swift movements could be seen overhead almost immediately. Small flapping noises filled the cave as the Zubats came descending rapidly towards them.

Pokédex Entry #41 – Zubat, the Bat Pokémon. It lives in colonies in dark places. It has no eyes, but when flying it is constantly emitting ultrasonic sounds which it uses to navigate through echolocation. As sunlight burns it, it’s usually only found in caves or at night.

Lucian could engage them, if he wants to. Or, he could simply press on, because engaging every Zubat in the cave would be a long and gruesome venture. If pressing on, they’d be flying about much like mosquitoes, very annoying but not really able to do much. Just snarl at them or wave them off when they try to Leech Life occasionally and everything’s fine. As such, here are options as to what to do, anyway.

In addition, Martin and Dawkin was entering the cavern about thirty seconds after he did, should Lucian wish to interact in some way. Though, the Zubats will still be there.

‘Oh, this guy?’ Larry asked, as the question of where he found his Geodude. ‘There’s a ton of ‘dudes in the Wet Caverns. If you head for the drier areas, they’re literally everywhere. A lot of them may be disguised as normal rocks, though. Kick or have a decently tough Pokémon knock on round Geodude-sized rocks, and you’re bound to run into one eventually!’ Larry smirked as he showed off his knowledge of Geodudes.

‘Ooooow… I-I’ll try…’ Carol said in response to Dawkin’s criticism, before pulling back.

Then, the two headed on, and nothing stopped them from arriving to the Wet Caverns. The road became a climb upwards towards the looming mountain, and soon enough they arrived at the famed hole in the wall.

It’s just a hole, anyone can go in and attempt getting to the other side. It remains wild, just like the Pokémon that await within. And, this time, there was no event awaiting them at the entrance, so they were free to simply head in.

Jeffrey totally looked like it’d continue with an attack after Ralia’s interference, but Yvonne held the Snubbull back with both her hands and could eventually get the dog-Pokémon to calm down seeing as there were no immediate danger.

‘Tsk. I’m sorry about that.’ Yvonne said with a frown, picking up the Pokéball to return Jeffrey into it.

‘Snubull.’ Jeffrey stated before he was returned to the Pokéball. Yvonne then stood up with a sigh and corrected her pose, running her hands through her hair to ensure it was still in perfectly good and orderly twin-tails as she made sure to regain her confident smile and become ready for more adventuring.

‘Well. If that was all, then I’ll be on my way. You have my number.’ Eugene said, the first part to them both, and the latter to Yvonne. He returned two of his Skarmories and then sat up on the remaining one, looking to the girls. ‘Thank you for travelling with the Freecape Ferrymen. I hope to see you again. … Good luck, girls.’ And unless stopped, he’d make his Skarmory take off and they flew away into the skies in the direction of Mt. Strength. Yvonne had nodded to him and then waved him away as he left.

‘Hmgh. If I am to actually afford the trip back, I might actually have to earn some extra money.’ Yvonne complained with a frown on her face as she looked at where Eugene was flying off to. But then she made a decision, gaining a little smirk, and turned to Claire.

‘Alright. I am going to spend some time at the Redcoast City Pokémon Gym. It’s Minor League, as far as I heard, so there should be a few underwhelming challengers. I’m going to challenge the challengers, or maybe just the gym itself if there are none. We could meet up in the shopping district by the Contest Hall in the afternoon? I should have regained a bit of my funds by then, ready to spend. Ho-ho.’ Yvonne suggested, smirking as she spoke to Claire.

So, now it was possible that Claire changed her intended course of action due to Eugene’s or Yvonne’s words. If she did, then post about that and work from there. If she didn’t, Claire and Yvonne parted ways there and Claire headed eastwards. Where she found…

Amelia watched the Pumpkaboos, giggling a bit at their initial reaction. When one of the smallest ones rolled out and approached her, she couldn't help but let out an 'Aaaaaaawwwwww', wanting the cute little guy. When one of the supersized ones rolled over and got between her and the tiny guy, she frowned and stood up, looking at the big guy.
"May I help you?" She asked before turning to look at the Gourgeists as they approached. She remained calm but looked at Chandelure and shook her head. She wanted to see if these Gourgeists were really hostile or simply being protective of their young. Sure, some Ghost-types could be dangerous, not unlike Litwick or Chandelure themselves, but that didn't mean they were all bad.

With a brief wave goodbye to Yvonne, Claire continued to route 11, not heeding Eugene's warning of bringing an umbrella. After all, a little water never hurt anyone, did it? Nope, besides she was hot enough for the water to just evaporate...pfft, okay, that was terrible. The redhead chuckled to herself as she kept up her brisk jog heading out of the city. She was still curious about that sanctuary place - the one Team Virtue was 'guarding'. Maybe she'd give 'em a visit later. With her winning personality and charm, there was no way she couldn't get in, heh!

Besides, when in doubt, remember - it's only illegal if you get caught!

Brushing those thoughts aside, Claire eventually made it to the beginning of route 11.

"Alllright! Lets get to it guys!" Claire said, reaching for her pokeballs. She had quite a bit of work ahead of her if she wanted to keep her pokemon all around a good level. Four already! She hadn't expected to run into so many awesome pokemon already, but hey, maybe the universe was finally working in her favor.

Well

Save for one annoying bumblebutt she wouldn't mention. She'd try her best with Lure, at least, but the bug just didn't want to engage in fun friendship times at all. First though, she'd train Ralia up a bit.

"Alright, Ralia! You're up first girl. Lets make ourselves queens of route 11 and show these pokemon who's boss!"

Action taken: Train pokemon, starting with Ralia, then Rtiz, Del, and lastly Lure. Maybe travel off the beaten path a bit, but focus mostly on training.

Lucian sighed as he saw the wet caves he would have to move through to reach the Ducklett, but before he moved on he was dealing with these Zubats "Houndour, embers. If the light doesn't scare them off the the burns will. Keep tracking the ducklett after they're gone. Venipede use poison sting if they don't leave us in peace." He gave these ordered as he swatted another Zubat away sighing with irritation as he made his way into the water-logged tunnel.

Houndour quickly turned to the Zubats and fired a stream of embers at the bats before turning to continue his tracking, although he occasionally checked behind him now to ensure the Zubats didn't try to attack him from behind.

Martin kept on following the path that Dawkin led. They came upon the mouth of the cave no one being there at the entrance. Sprout was up to a jog keeping up, staying behind Dawkin in stride, as if to keep his distance. The lack of people didn't even register to Martin as odd, as he was too busy going in anyways. Dark and earthen walls covered all sides as they kept going in, the light steadily dimming. Up ahead were the sounds of bats, and it sounded like more than one. As he got into view, ready to help someone in need, he recognized the face from earlier. "Sprout, I need you to use Vine Whip to get them to scatter. If they want a fight, I'll send in backup."

Sprout wasn't too keen on listening to Martin, instead looking to pick the fight on it's own terms. Instead of diving in with an attack, it used Growl to intimidate the Zubats, declaring it's presence and intent to attack. "...Or not. Is now the best time to fight with honor?" The only reward Martin got for asking was Sprout turning back to give another glare at it's owner, followed by once again turning his back again. He was ready to fight, and there were three targets. "Alright, be that way..." He turned to shout to the boy in trouble, "Hey, being outnumbered is never a great thing. Need a hand, or two?"

Chandelure looked a little distressed at the clashing orders between Laurinda and Amelia, looking back and forth between the Gourgeists and the young girl.

‘Chandelure…’ The floating chandelier complained slightly. Meanwhile.

‘Pumpka! Pumpka, kaboo! Booka!’ The super-sized Pumpkaboo complained to Amelia.

Translated for her Pokémon…

‘You look totally weak! If my little brother should go with anyone, it should be a strong trainer! Prove you’re strong!’
So the bigger Pumpkaboo announced, while the smaller one trailed peeked out from behind the bigger one to look a bit confused at the situation.

‘… Ka?’

Meanwhile… the Gourgeists floating in slowly came to a halt. They had devious smiles on their lips, some of them still singing their curse, but they appeared to have placed themselves quite right opposite Laurinda. The ghosts of these woods and Laurinda had clashed in the past, after all, and they knew what the woman was capable of. That said, they didn’t look unwilling to potentially make a move as both sides surveyed the scene, the Gourgeists in amusement and with threatening malicious auras while Laurinda with stiff determination and readiness to move with her Pokémon.

Well, then. It was time to introduce the three most common Pokémon of Route 11, because Claire would be running into all three. Pidoves were everywhere, flocking around like crazy around the pathways where people commonly walked, making obnoxious bird-sounds. Apparently, they’re fairly used to being fed. Around the route there were small ponds created by the common rainfall, and around those where a large amount of Budews. But, the most plentiful and around, where the Zigzagoons smelling everywhere, walking about in zig-zag patterns seeking the items commonly dropped by the frequent travellers going by this route. They were everywhere, from around the road to the pains to the small woods to everywhere else. Maybe slightly more sparse in number than that made it sound like, but it was unlikely you’d cross Route 11 without seeing at least one in a bush or so.

Pokédex Entry #263 – Zigzagoon, the Tiny Racoon Pokémon. An exceedingly curious Pokémon which walks in a zig-zag pattern with its nose in the ground. It is skilled at finding items people have left around. It rubs its hard back hair against trees to leave territorial markings.

Pokédex Entry #519 – Pidove, the Tiny Pigeon Pokémon. They’re very accustomed to people and flock around cities and parks. They harbour no fear of people and can be very noisy. They’re very forgetful, and is one of few Pokémon that might not understand a trainer’s orders when given one.

Pokédex Entry #406 – Budew, the Bud Pokémon. It is sensitive to changing temperature. In winter it closes its bud and endures, while in summer it blooms and releases its pollen. This pollen is mildly poisonous and can cause harsh sneezing. It lives near clear ponds.

And onto train she was! Claire would find that Ralia had little problems with any of these three most common Pokémon, but by far the easiest targets would be the Budews due to their secondary Poison typing. If Ralia aimed indiscriminately when training she would suffer minor damage from resisting Zigzagoons and Pidoves, but if primarily directed at Budews she’d get away scot free, although perhaps with slightly less useful experience.

Ralia grew to level 8!

The three bug-type Pokémon collectively would have trouble against the Pidoves, who all knew Gust. Zigzagoon could be a potential target, but they’d suffer considerable damage in return after a few wild ones. Which left the Budews, who’s only attack was Absorb, which was at a double disadvantage against all three of their number, which could be used if to increase the confidence of Ritz and Del or allow Lure to prey on the defenseless buds as brutally as she felt like without any opposition.

Ritz grew to level 6! Ritz learned Supersonic!

Lure grew to level 7!

Del grew to level 6!

There was still merit in training further in this area, especially if Claire could find some of the more uncommon Pokémon of the route. Her Pokémon were not so strong there weren’t more levels that could be gained here, especially if she found some of the more uncommon Pokémon on the route. Of course, if Claire wished to capture any of these, then it was simply for her to decide to do so to a specific one of their number and the scene would be prepared. Though, it should be noted, the clouds were gathering overhead…

Lure may have randomly found some Honey somewhere with Honey Gather, if she wishes to.

… Over there walks a Zigzagoon with something in its mouth. It may have attracted the attention of Claire or some of her Pokémon, because… it shone? That Zigzagoon was carrying something that shone of gold. … And if it was looked at, it suddenly dashed south to a complex of abandoned buildings in full haste.

Up to Claire what she wished to do now.

Connected areas:
Redcoast City. A bit further behind you.
Rainrock City. Requires crossing the remainder Route 11, but it’s a pretty well-travelled and safe road.
Route 12. Requires crossing Route 11 on the way north, also pretty well-travelled.
Pokéball Factory. A turn east on the path north should bring you there.

Houndour’s embers indeed kept the Zubats temporarily away, as the threat of heat kept them in a state of caring about their well-being. And then there was a Growl coming from a Bulbasaur behind him, further discouraging the Zubats. Soooooooooo, there was someone speaking to him behind, but in case he wished to keep going, this is what he’d find.

<well, can’t exactly post, you’re talking to Lucian, and I don’t know if he’s still moving on as he wrote in his post, but if so you could follow him if you wish, the Zubats aren’t necessarily a problem>

Amelia didn't understand the Pumpkaboos of course but she could guess it had said something to offend either her or her pokemon as the flame on Litwik's head suddenly shot up and the little guy jumped down from her head, looking up at the supersized Pumpkaboo.

"Litwick!" It shouted, causing Amelia to sigh as she let go of Shuppet, letting him float away a bit. She moved away from the Pumpkaboos a bit before turning around.
"Come on Litwick. We're going to battle this one." She said. Her partner moved over so he was directly infront of Amelia, facing their opponent. Amelia remained silent, waiting to see what this Pumpkaboo would do. Phantump and Shupper floated on either side of her head, ready to jump in as needed, if she felt the need to switch Litwick out.

When the other Pumpkaboos realized a battle was apparently going to take place they collectively yelped and scrambled to move a bit away and then form a slight half-circle, pulling the tiny one along for now, gazing intently as the super-sized Pumpkaboo faced off against Litwick with a frown on his face.

‘Ka-boo!’ He breathed in and blew out with its two holes in the pumpkin below the face glowing intently, and a shadowy ball flew forth, swirling in the air towards Litwick. Pumpkaboo had initiated the battle with a Confuse Ray, the lightly glowing ball of ghostly energy that did not move straight but nonetheless swirled in Litwick's direction. It'd be potentially hard to avoid due to its slightly homing nature and the short distance in-between. How would they respond?

Amelia watched the Pumpkaboo closely. When she saw it release Confuse Ray, she waited patiently until it was almost to them before issuing her command. The Thing about this Pumpkaboo was that it was bigger then Litwick, meaning it had to aim down to hit Litwick. She could use that to her advantage.
"Litwick, move under that light with some help from Minimize then hit it was Ember!" She commanded. Litwick immediately jumped into action, dashing underneath the Confuse Ray, using Minimize to give it a bit more room. Once it was in the clear, it breathed in before releasing a Ember on the huge Pumpkaboo, the bright orange dust cloud aimed at the giant pumpkin's face.

Dawkin Trustram

A bunch of zubats, how bothersome. Not for him of course. They could easily move around or make use of the repels they both had but the latter would be excessive and the former would be quite rude. Once again Wooper found himself released and looking around curiously. "Wooper, watergun down those Zubats." Another one of the trainers he'd met at the start. It seemed these journeys were more prone to trouble than Dawkin had been aware of. Hardly a day had passed and at least 3 people had been met with situations they'd be hard-pressed to deal with individually. He should make sure to do some training after they passed through the Wet Caverns, to ensure he was stronger enough to keep moving forward.

For the most part, training went well! Ralia didn't have much problem at all with the wild pokemon. Claire decided to give her a bit of training with all the types, rather than just focusing on the budews. Had to have well-rounded experience, after all! Couldn't just fight what you were strong against or you'd never get anything good from battling. She got roughed up a little bit, but for the most part she didn't take much damage at all.

The three bugs though, had a bit of a problem, especially with the Pidoves. They were nowhere near ready to fight flying types, considering the disadvantage they had, and Zigzagoons would likely tire them down pretty badly after a few wild ones. That left the Budews. Del and Ritz worked together pretty well taking them down. Del using String Shot to slow them down and make their already lacking attacks to give Ritz a good shot at getting a good tackle in. Lure proved to be a bit easier and more troublesome to train. The little bug didn't listen to Claire at all, and instead took to just gusting every single budew she saw. It worked out in the end, but the fact that she also shot a few at Claire just for seeming giggles made the redhead a bit miffed.

Oh, not to mention she wasn't sharing the honey. Rude.

"Waha, you guys did great!" Claire said from where she was kneeling, giving all of her pokemon an affectionate petting on the head. "We'll be top-tier trainers in no time! Heh, we'll take a rest for a bit and get back to it." The three good little pokemon - Del, Ritz, and Ralia seeming quite happy with the praise. Lure wasn't paying much attention, though. That was fine. Claire had decided that she'd leave the bug alone for now. As the team took a quick break, Claire stretched, doing a few warm up exercises. She had to stay in top shape too, after all. Couldn't just let her pokemon have all the fun.

While she was doing that, Ralia seemed to take notice of a Zigzagoon in a bit of a...hurry? It seemed like it was. It also seemed like it was carrying something pretty good on it. Walking over to Claire, the small pokemon tugged on the redheads pants, and pointed over to it.

"Eeeh?" The moment she looked, the pokemon bolted. That was about as much incentive as Claire needed to run after it. "After that Zigzagoon!" She saw that shiny thing it was carrying, and she was gonna nab it! She scooped up Ralia, who just managed to grab Del so the little bug wouldn't get left behind in Claire's haste. Ritz zoomed off after Claire as well while Lure just lazily floated after them. The redhead dashed after the Zigzagoon, following it into the complex of abandoned buildings.

Lucian Vazquez

Lucian looked at the two boys who had came to help him for a moment before nodding with a smirk, he recognized them from the lab "I suppose I'd appreciate the help now that you're here. Houndour, embers again, and try to hit them this time". As he ordered houndour fired his embers at the small swarm of zubats, venipede seemed somewhat annoyed as the bats flew over his head making him unable to attack them, although he did occasionally jump into the air in an attempt to hit one of the bat pokemon.

@Joshua Tamashii - Night

The Confuse Ray headed for Litwick, intending on striking him head-on, angled a bit downwards where it spun in the air… when Litwick used Minimize and the Confuse Ray flew through the space where the candle-Pokémon had previously occupied to impact the ground pointlessly. The supersized pumpkin blinked in slight surprise when then an Ember came flying. Said Ember was not Minimized, and came at a speed that the obviously slower due to its size Pumpkaboo couldn’t dodge.

‘PUUUUUUM…!’ The fireball impacted with a little burst and the big pumpkin spun back in Super Effective damage. However, not to be overtaken, it spun back with a frown, the increased size also meaning increased toughness. Deciding not to waste time, it charged forth at Litwick, preparing its lungs to impact and give a startling shout as it did if it hit, using the Astonish move which also would be Super Effective in turn should it hit. It was up to Litwick and Amelia how they wished to counter this.

Claire pursued the Zigzagoon into the complex of abandoned buildings, chasing the quick little bugger carrying something shiny. In this area of multi-story buildings, abandoned after everyone had collectively agreed that living in any of the nearby cities was superior, Claire and her Pokémon would find a considerable feeling of emptiness except for the Zigzagoon they were pursuing. They maneuvered the streets, perhaps noting that the Zigzagoon had a very specific destination in mind. Soon enough, Claire would be running into…?

@Pyromaniacwolf@Eklispe@Pikmin Eye

After a Water Gun from Wooper and another Ember from Houndour, this one hitting its mark, the Zubats got the idea and while damaged fluttered away from the scene. While they might be brave, they hadn’t been openly engaging in battle and taking on three trainers at the same time was a bit more than they had bargained for. However, that was just three of the cave’s Zubats. There were a whole lot more in there that hadn’t yet gotten the idea.

Participating Pokémon earned some experience, though not enough to gain any levels. The three of them could now discuss what they’d like to do now. Or, if they felt like it, just head off with their own missions in mind. The three stood in the entrance corridor of the Wet Caverns, where the road split into three. One dark and deep path in the middle, one dry and rocky to the left, one flooded and wet to the right. The smell Houndour sensed was to the right.

Furthermore, further in that path to the right the path split again, one continuing the underground river to the left and to the right was a step out of the water. Dawkin would remember he went the path right there to escape his pursuers. Houndour would feel the smell he was pursuing going both right and left there, though left more recently. That’s about it.
