[@shylarah] David became a member of the Army in January 1940. He finished basic training a few months later with excellent marks, and was recommemded for promotion and enrolled to the officer school, finishing as second lieutenant. Later that year, he was taken in by the SRPD, and put through trials and experiments. That lasted about two months. The time is early December, when the program is finished. To my eyes, that leaves about eleven to twelve months to see some combat before the Task Force, as it was formed in December 1941. It has been about two months since the training started. And I gave the prize to encourage the unit to strive them harder. Twenty-five minutes can be an impossibility for them, but that doesn't rule them out to try harder. Sometimes, soldiers can be encouraged by incentives to perform. Medals, day offs, recommendations and other rewards can be effective to boost performance.
