You can have a surname I guess, but it'll be sort of weird for a goblin to have one. 

To clarify something in case there was a misunderstanding, the world didn't end or anything, your character just died. I guess [i]their[/i] world ended if you look at it that way.

The Gift is fine. Keep in mind, though, that the strength of the Gift is correlated to the strength of the soul. This is the sort of thing I'll explain more when I put the OOC up, but for now just know that the Gift's strength will be pretty low. He'd be able to outclimb someone with similar parameters, but don't expect him to be able to scale cliffs off the bat or anything. The strength of the Gift and its characteristics will grow as the character does.
