"I got it." Bringing the girl up into his arms and then onto his back, piggyback style, making sure her head was just a little lower that his, he never quite realized just how light she was. Huh. Maybe he was stronger than he though. Taking careful steps out the door and into the courtyard, another small crowd had gathered, likely to see the Baron's return. The short walk to the road was... Mostly without injury. He pulled his hair a little re-adjusting Veronica, but other than that, not much seemed out of the ordinary. Finally reaching the road, a Carriage led by two beautiful chestnut horses could be seen in the distance. Looks like the Baron's back, and just in time. He set the girl down very gently, but held onto her hand with a soft but iron grip. She wasn't going to be running away."Here he comes! You ready? Be mindful of the horses, I don't want you getting hurt." His mind traveled back to his time leading a caravan through Ebberon, only to be kicked in the face by one of the horses. He had a broken jaw and nose. Heh. Fun times. He almost missed it. Almost. Snapping back to reality, he re-gripped Veronica's hand, just to be safe.
