[@CajunRobinHood] That's actually very astute. It's both reasons, actually. Jin would probably be able to out engineer her father in a few years. They figured out a way to block Jin's power completely, but that causes more harm than good. Jin is still growing, so she's currently got more power than  she can actually maintain. Her mother could pick locks with her tk. Jin would just take the door off.
