Y'know, you mentioned jazz and [url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o4Olx-oU1M8]this[/url], along with [url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dhZnBL6pt8]this[/url] came to mind in short order. Maybe not perfect fits, but its what my brain jumped to first in regards to jazz and piano.

Platz, well, I haven't the foggiest idea where to go with his theme, but like you mentioned already, rock/metal doesn't seem fitting either.
