[@Afro Samurai] I think it's more that tobiax means that the names of genres themselves don't fit in RWBY because Remnant isn't Earth. Instead, maybe describe the characteristics of the style of music. Like say I have a character that I want to have a rock music influence. Maybe instead of describing the character as being in a rock band, I would say that she is in a band with amplified electrical guitar supported by bass guitar or something in that vein. If you're struggling with how to word it, you could use the Wiki page for the specific genre for inspiration.
