 I believe that mages are a dangerous lot. This is coming from a professional mage. If someone has the chance to increase their power of their wish but eliminating a weaker link, or competition member I believe they might do so. I know we don't necessarily need to kill the masters but it is considered a more efficient way of getting rid of an enemy. Who knows what each servant has under their belt.
