Current Village: Hikeamena Rank: Chunin Ninja Status: Missing-nin Teammates: N/A Sensei: Mother Ray. Nindo: The Misty Path: Victory through any means. To do less is defeat. History:
Betrayal is akin to death in Kirigakure. Akio never knew his birth mother, nor did he have much intrest in such matters. The dossier detailing her attempted betrayal of selling information to Sunagakure for asylum was, for him, a concise detailing of her faults. Three pages were more than adequate to explain a person. And the need of the five individuals before him to explain his situation seemed redundant. The majority of them were chuunin. Men and women he'd meet with weeks (rarely months) at a time. Their skills adequate to teaching the basics of their craft but little else. His sole nameless windows into the world beyond the small set of rooms that was his home four the last fourteen years. Today, however, there was someone new. She was Anbu, for that he was certain. Though she stood at the back of the group, her figure dominated the air around her with silent intimidation. Her gaze was locked on him through the stingray like mask she wore, body coiled against some unseen threat he somehow represented. “Well Akio-chan?” one of the chuunin asked, their voice dulled agaisnt the presence of the anbu. “Do you have any thoughts? Feelings about what you just read?” It was an unexpected question. The right answer fell from his mouth without his thinking. Disloyalty was akin to death in Kirigakure. And he held no interest in dying. ======================================= The five of them had named her Mother Ray. Akio hated it, though it was the only name he could now call the Anbu. She was the daily constant in their lives now, more so than each other. The others sometimes regarded her with some sort of familial infatuation, but he couldnt share in their enthusiasm. The looks of awe plastered across their faces anytime she taught them something new or took them into the village stired something in him. And it was becoming more difficult to push it down each day. Mother Ray had said that was a good sign. He was inclined to disagree. There was no familial motivation in her decisions with them. She had trained them to see such things after all. She had not saved their lives like the others thought. She had saved resources by preventing traitors from giving birth to yet more traitors. And why the others couldn't not see, much less admire, that simple truth was beyond him. ===================================== He struggled to remember the name of the girl at his feet. He knew he'd asked her name at one point. Maybe when they were competing to see who could gain access to that nobles bed chamber the fastest (he'd won of course). His mind reached back, remembering the first time they had gone out as a team, not under the eye of Mother Ray, though all he could remember in detail was the gleam of her mask (he assume of pleasure) as he read her the after action report. He sighed, stowing the question for later. If he couldnt remember her name, he doubted he remebered the other two piled gracefully next to her. The document Mother Ray had entrusted them with was gone, as was his 'sister'. He weighed his options. He was no tracker, that had been her job, so following her was not in the cards. And returning without the document would make him as guilty as the one who stole it. Betrayl was death in Kirigakure. And Akio had no interest in dying.
working on history. But TL'DR: Kirigakure attempts to take the children of executed traitors and make them into loyalist soliders through isolation while being over seen by an Anbu. Works well for most, but one of the subjects goes AWOL for unknown reasons. Akio flees to Hikeamena to avoid execution via guilt by association. Shenanigans ensue. Personality: Aiko is distant and at times aloof. Few people can force more than a dulled almost bored expression from him. And those that do he treats largely with mild annoyance. This is not due to any inability to be expressive on his part however. When attempting to charm or befriend another person, he can feign the warmth of others quiet readily. He considers his existance to be little more than leverage for bettering the prosperity of his village and his direct superiors and is, or at least was, quiet happy with this 'fact'. His time in Hikeamena, and the discomfort those around him(both with his glibness and his general disregard for 'honorable conflict'), have forced him to begin questioning this line of thinking. He only dwells on this rarely however, seeing it as a waste of otherwise productive time. Chakra Element: Water and Salt Releases Weapon(s): Kunai, Paper bombs, gas mask.
