Then, let me change his goals. He plans to be at the forefront of the battle against this evil. Earn a name and reputation and power  during his victories against this menace. By accomplishing himself with his battle achievements, he plans to rise through the ranks. So his main goal is to be a general. After that, he plans to quietly dispose of his house/faction ruler and descendants while trying to get the position himself. The question remains though, can my characters still be from the southern lands?

Well most of these are just fluff I'll never witness. But that's the gist of his ambition. Since we are the heroes, I presume, do we have some military ranking or just a group of powerful individuals joining together and kicking evil arrse!?
