Appearance:
Six foot, lanky human normally wearing faded blue jeans and a white hoodie with the Aegis logo on the back. Each of the fingertips on the right hand are black and synthetic looking, while the right arm has a thin metal strip on the top. The clothing he wears always leaves this metal strip exposed.
Name:
Virus Account Control is his full name, but any official records have him written down simply as VAC. Out in the field, he’s usually just called V for simplicity.
Age:
2 years, looks to be 20ish in appearance
Aegis Type:
Hacker
Ability/Weapon: ACCESS_DENIED/PING
His hacker power, ACCESS_DENIED, does more or less exactly what is sounds like. When using his powers, the metal strip in his arm pops up and floats in the air, a holographic screen appearing between it and the hole it leaves in his arm. While the screen is manifested, he can link into the permissions any particular virus has in the current server and modify them. This can manifest many ways, including, but not limited to; -Denying access to the graphical information of him or his allies, causing them to be invisible to his target -Denying the access to certain areas, forming invisible, impassable walls for the target -Denying access to certain commands, restricting the virus’ ability to perform any special abilities it might have -Denying the virus access to itself if he’s hacked into it far enough, preventing it from moving, communicating, seeing etc. He has a small sidearm called PING, which shoots harmless bullets. When these bullets hit a virus, however, it drastically increases VAC’s ability to access their permissions. With just the screen, it can take a few minutes for VAC to gain advanced access to a powerful virus, while a PINGed virus takes him mere seconds to start tampering with.
Personality:
VAC is somewhat reminiscent of your stereotypical cocky teenaged hacker, self-confident and aloof most of the time. A dedicated member of Aegis, he is actually a decent person, however. He cares for the society the AIs live in, and always strives to protect both his squad mates and the innocent AIs occupying the servers viruses have infected. He’s light-hearted, seemingly always in a good mood and trying to spread this good mood to others, making jokes and puns to lighten the mood. Despite having access to massive databanks, he has relatively little field experience, sometimes leading to him getting in over his head out on missions.
Background:
VAC was created two years ago by Aegis to help combat the viruses. His creation overseen by the admin of the server, VAC was given the unique hacker ability to access and modify not only the permissions of other AIs, but more importantly those of viruses. As a special project by higher-ups of Aegis, VAC was given servers worth of data on field reports, server scans, outerworld discoveries, virus bestiaries, and anything else deemed useful for the combat of viruses. All of this special treatment went to his head initially, his first couple missions almost going horribly wrong due to VAC overestimating his abilities. Taken back in for more education, he has since been taught more humility, taking things more seriously and being more willing to admit his inexperience now. Aegis learned its lesson with VAC, and makes sure to only assign him to teams with more experienced AIs leading them.
Other:
VAC has developed the ability to manipulate code in a way that allows him to create objects, but he has only ever been able to use this to create food and drink items. Despite being more or less useless, VAC takes full advantage of this, and is usually seen eating or drinking some form of food, usually based on something from the outerworld.
