What if they think that the money they'll make will do more of use than saving one cat will? That's what Laughter would think. Even a "good" person might let the cat die if they thought it served the greater good, and an evil person might save it if it helped them more. Neutrals tend to do what you see as "good" and "evil" in roughly equal amounts based on something other than a moral code.
