[@Zelosse][@liferusher][@Kalleth] (Wasn't sure which one of you to tag, sorry) Saw you guys are still accepting characters (hopefully), so I figured I'd throw one in. He's grown and matured into a fine young man, although his violent habits still persist. Should someone insult him and his people, or perhaps question his strength, they will quickly find themselves facing the fists of an experienced fighter. However, it would be wrong to assume Chaska is temperamental because of this; in actuality, he is quite a grounded, proud, and honorable individual. Perhaps a good way to describe Chaska would be stoic, or at the very least quiet. He is not particularly talkative unless he considers someone to be a close friend or ally, and will often remain silent unless he feels his voice is needed. When he does speak, his voice is calm and calculated, in addition to being incredibly eloquent. He is a good person to ask advice from, and unlike most will never be caught in hypocrisy. He stands firmly for the things he believes in, and as such can often be seen as stubborn.
History
Chaska was born a bastard, the first and only son of Chumani Enapay, a Water Elemental. He was born in Wagner South Dakota, and was raised on the Yankton Reservation, a native-american reservation found in the south-east of South Dakota. The reservation was large and heavily populated, but a reservation nonetheless; as such, he was exposed early on to the harshness of being a Native in a white man's country. Unlike the majority of the nation, Native-American culture was significantly less hostile to elementals, and quite often they were revered individuals. The long-standing cultural significance of the wakíksuyA, or to the rest of the world, Elementals, prevented Chaska from experiencing the harsh treatment most Elementals faced; but this is not to suggest he lived a prejudice free life. At an early age Chaska was expected to be an elemental like his mother Chumani, and as such he was treated differently by the adults and elders of his community. This treatment did not extend to those his age however, and any reverence he was treated to by those older than he was repaid two-fold in hostility by those his own age. The hostility displayed by his peers did not begin until around the fourth grade, but it did not stop until a year or so before Chaska was sent away to the Elemental Academy. Given the nature of young men at that age, Chaska was more or less forced to learn how to fight; and it wasn't long until he was starting them on his own. The Tribal nature of the Reservation seemed amplified by young men, and the existence of a "food-chain" was apparent. For Chaska to be treated with a shred of decency, or even left alone, he was obligated to throw the first and last fist regularly. Around the beginning of 6th grade, Chaska had developed a reputation as one of the fiercest and most temperamental young men on the reservation. So much as looking at him the wrong way caused him to attack, as it was the only way he could avoid being attacked himself. Contrary to what one would expect, this behavior was largely respected by his elders and authority, and often encouraged. To fight among peers was a common thing even among those that weren't wakíksuyA, but for Chaska, it was expected. As an Elemental, it was demanded by both his mother and community that he would be strong; as a weak man could never grow into the leader he was expected to be. Aside from the violence that surrounded him, Chaska was an inspiring young man even to those outside of the reservation. He seemed to carry a natural aura of leadership about him, and proved to be an incredibly intelligent individual, even to an outsiders standards. Near the end of middle-school, just before he was expected to attend the academy, he had garnered a respect from his peers. He was exceptionally strong in both mind and body, and although he was required to constantly remind his fellow students such, the intentional acts of aggression and harassment seemed to ease. After so many years, it seemed his peers had begun to understand why the Elders held him in such high esteem. After "Graduating" from middle-school, as all wakíksuyA were expected to do, Chaska enrolled into the Elemental Academy. The week before his departure was filled with local celebration, and even the boys that had once hated and tormented Chaska celebrated alongside him.
