The announcer's voice came over the loudspeaker. "Ladies and Gentlemen, place your bets for the final fight of the evening." Sure, the fighting ring was illegal, as was gambling in New York City, but most of the people participating weren't even human, so legal fight leagues wouldn't accept them. "Tonight a new challenger will step into the ring to take on the Tortured Titan. Give it up for Franky Cazivini." Prometheus opened his eyes to see a very large human wearing studded gloves. Anything goes in the arena, as long as the fight was kept melee, so it was fairly common for people to bring weapons, and the Cazavinis were a fairly small crime family, so it made sense that they would send one of their own into the ring to try to win the fame and fortune that would go to anyone who could beat Prometheus. Unfortunately, studded gloves couldn't hurt him fast enough to win the fight. A bell dinged and the Prometheus stepped forward, wearing only a track outfit with his necklace tucked safely inside it. "Come on, Franky." he said. "First shot's free." Franky shrugged and swung at Prometheus' face. Prometheus was dazed as a tooth flew from his mouth. So he knows how to throw a punch.thought Prometheus. With my healing that won't matter. "Looks like I'm gonna make a bit extra on this match. God teeth sell for a pretty good price." Prometheus grinned at Franky, showing the hole where his tooth used to be, and decided to play with Franky to draw the crowd in. He let a few light jabs connect while landing a few of his own. After about a minute of this, however, Prometheus realized that his wounds weren't healing. He looked at Franky's gloves. "Stygian steel?" "You think I'd step into the ring with one of you without it?" Franky asked. Prometheus shrugged. True, stygian steel could weaken the powers of anyone injured with it. He would have to concentrate to heal these wounds, which meant that he couldn't fool around any more. Luckily, Franky was predictable enough for a bit of Foresight to reveal his moves just before he did them, even in Prometheus' weakened condition. After wailing on the man for over a minute Franky finally collapsed and Prometheus lifted his hands into the air. The crowd cheered, and Prometheus absorbed the admiration, noticing that this influx of Worship was enough to heal his wounds and return him to full strength. Once the crowd died down he climbed out of the ring and made his way towards The Sorcerer's office to get his pay for the fights and patching up those fighters that got messed up too badly for first aid to be enough.
Anyone want to play as ancient gods that are trying to survive/return in modern times? Those gods that are currently in power won't like it, and any follower of theirs that they've given actual power to will recognize us. So might the odd witch/pagan/etc. So we might have to fight from time to time. If we get to powerful, goodbye New York City. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-tVTEyuCKn4
Name: Pantheon: Major Domain: Minor Domain: Relic: (One, in case there's something closely tied to you.) Relic: The Primordial Fire (now contained within a slightly glowing diamond necklace that Prometheus always wears, it rapidly restores the energy of those that wear it, and can amplify powers of gods, demigods, humans, and monsters. No one is quite sure where the energy comes from. Some say it is a nascent universe, others energy from the creation of this universe, others absorbed energy from life or some other energy source. It is his most prized possession.) Bio: He loved humans, and foresaw that they might become greater than the gods, so he stole the primordial fire from Zeus and hid it with them. For this he was chained to a rock and repeatedly killed for over 3000 years. Luckily, when Christianity began to spread to Greece, he was found by a traveling monk and freed, the holy man not knowing who he truly was. Knowing that he would never be allowed to return to Olympus, despite the fact that Zeus was now being challenged by a foreign god, he retrieved the Primordial fire, took it North, convinced Thor to have it forged into a necklace, and left to live among the humans.
