Chapter 3 of [url=http://wiki.janhoo.net/_media/lostboys/material/tcbo_bards.pdf]The Complete Bard's Handbook[/url] talks about demihumans as bards. Not only does it have a specialized kit for each demihuman (Dwarven Chanter, Elven Minstrel, etc.), but it also has a table that shows what other bard kits (described in Chapter 2) that demihumans can play & the level limits for each.
Personally, I like the Blade kit.

And, yes, I still plan on joining this. I have an avatar I wanna use (a gorgeous piece of digital art featuring an elf/half-elf) I'm just having trouble settling on a class. Originally I was thinking a thief, but now I'm considering a a multiclass character.... or possibly, after looking over these bard kits...

@RumikoOhara - Are we allowed to use the class kits from the handbooks, or would you prefer just the basic classes presented in the Player's Handbook?
