Thobias grew up on Earth, as a member of the Tyche Concord. He spent his early life as a med student, but would eventually choose not to be employed by a greedy corporation and instead take his knowledge to the Vanguard, as left the Concord behind and joined the Collective. After undergoing extensive genetic therapies and implantation of his neural interface, he enlisted at the tender age of 29 to become a Lifekeeper, leaving his home planet of Earth to be stationed on Mars. Despite hating Martians pretty much all through his life, he had to make do with his assignment on the red planet if he wanted to pursue his dreams of being a doctor. The dream was short-lived, however, and he would find out that most of the cases he had to attend could be easily done by robots and machines. The few cases he did on duty earned him no respect in the corps, and he would soon grow to be disillusioned with being a medic. At the age of 35 he transitioned to the Combatants of the Vanguard. As a Combatant, he spent long years training and being on different odd duties, earning several promotions, but never going further than Captain. However, the tension between himself and some of the Martian officers grew with each passing day, as he would often make remarks about the Martian's treachery when they sold out Earth and joined the Collective. Despite his best efforts to contain his anger with them, this resulted in a heated argument which earned him a demotion and a reassignment to the peaceful colony moon of Rivendell. Here, Thane would find his true calling: being a pilot. Never before having even considered being one, after visiting the vast wildernesses of Rivendell and gazing upon the bright blue sky and the gas giant looming above, he wondered what it could be like. Still young at the age of 56, he would appeal to the few contacts he had to be moved to the Air Combatants. Thane turned out to be a great candidate, and a truly skillful pilot. His skills at handling atmospheric fighters and gunships was unmatched in his own division, and beating some of the previous aces on Rivendell in mock battles, Thane would earn fame thanks to his unparalleled performances. A good thirty years would pass in this relatively peaceful state of mind, and Thane would find the love of his life on Rivendell - a fighter pilot by the name of Amanda, with whom he shared a strong relationship with throughout the years. However, fate is a twisted thing; during a large inter-branch tournament, he would be sent back to Mars once again as one of the competitors from Rivendell. He would be beaten in the finals, leaving him angered. And on this fateful day, he lashed out at several Martians, calling them traitors to Humanity and almost ended up in a fight. After the event he was dishonorably discharged from the Vanguard, and seeing no future within the Collective, decided to leave the alliance and rejoin the Tyche Concord, heading home to Earth. Using the money he saved up during his previous time in the Concord, he bought a large dropship that he began using to ferry materials and become a trader. Despite earning a fortune from trading, Tobias didn't find this line of work suited for him, so he transitioned to a different job: bounty hunting. Sacking his old ship and using his military contacts he managed to acquire a small frigate at the age of 126. He would go on to traipse around Concord worlds, and hunt for bounties. For some ninety years now he's been doing jobs on almost every planet of the Concord. Despite not being a military man anymore, he still keeps in touch with Amanda, and they spend every available opportunity together. He has amassed considerable wealth during these years, some of which he spent in tuning his ship and gear.
[@6slyboy6] Here is the updated history. If you have any questions about why I changed what I did, feel free to ask. Also, in regards to his personal effects, they all look good, but one little thing is that electromagnetic weapons are less powerful than projectile weapons of the same caliber. Though scaling them up would make them more powerful. As for ships, I don't have many rules other than "don't make it a fighter" and the size minimum is 100m length. Use the Ship Skeleton in Quick Reference, and show me when you're done. If I have no problems with it, I'll approve it.
