[indent][color=darkmagenta][i]Sooooo… My name’s Martha Colette Radley, middle daughter of Frederick Radley and Margot Sutton. I was born on January 31st in Manhattan, New York, right in the middle of a rather intense blizzard. It probably explains why my family always say I’m so cold, but that’s not the point here… When they were together, my parents got along well. They were never the most expressive of people when they came to each other, and they were both kind of workaholics. But hey, at least they were always good and affectionate to us. Even though it was kind of expected when you think about it from an older perspective, I never would have guessed that things would end the way they did.

I was six years old when my mother came home one day to find all of my dad’s things gone and a single envelope on their bed. In it were divorce papers with child support arrangements, and a letter explaining the actions taken. Apparently, my father had been having an affair with a woman named Olivia  for nearly two years, and she was currently expecting their first son. I swear I have never seen my mother fall apart so harshly as she did that day. Thankfully, she’s a strong woman, and by the end of the week she was back on top of things. The divorce procedures were finalized in a year, and we were on the plane to California the day after it came through.

Beverly Hills became my new home. I wasn’t too happy with the idea of leaving everything behind and starting over, but it’s not like little seven year-old me had a choice. My parents attributed this to me being a child who didn’t understand, but eleven years later I still feel the same way. In all honesty: I HATE it here. I’m the only one of my siblings who despises Beverly Hills and all it has to offer. It’s too sunny, the people are too fake, and you can’t seem to make a move without people judging you about it. I think it sucks.

Okay, so my dad’s a Wall Street banker, and my mom’s a luxury real estate agent. It’s pretty obvious that my family’s not poor by any means, but I refuse to sit here and brag about money or superficial things like that. As it stands, I currently have one older sister and three younger brothers, the last two being the children my father had with Olivia. I know for a fact that MarMar hates Liv, but I just feel sad for the woman. [i]She[/i] didn’t know our father was married. That’s on Dad. I personally feel like she was a victim in all this, just like my mother and my siblings were. The only good side is that even though dad was a crap husband, he’s an amazing father. He’s always managed to make time for all of us, constantly present in our lives. Every summer, he gathers up all his kids and whisks us off to some exotic location. Last summer it was Bali, where I got to meet some pretty delicious Australians… I wish there were more of them in the Hills.

I am currently a senior at the local high school: Beverly Hills High. The feeling I have for the Hills also translates to this school. The cliques, the fakeness, the drama, the gossip... I don't know how MarMar does it. I feel trapped in the campus,
every bit of me desperately wanting to stretch my wings and get out. God only knows how I'm counting the days until graduation. I’ve already got early acceptance at Columbia, so I can’t wait to leave all this shit behind and be back HOME where I belong.[/i][/color][/indent]
