The lightning crackle she heard made her sure she will do her best to please Hiron-Sensei, and she decided she will do so right in their first mission.

That sounded a bit weird to her, but she learned not to underestimate anything - and she will not underestimate this turtle as well. Especially after Hiron-Sensei told that the it already fooled several Chunin ranked shinobi. And also, this mission was to prove to her Sensei that she really is Team 9 material.
