That last part is a well kept secret, of course, because it has to be. Not even the Sterling children, nor their mother, know the full details of where their wealth comes from. Pearce Sterling, Selena and her twin brother Sean’s father, knows a great deal about the source of their cash flow. Pearce is the primary banker for [i]Helmsley Enterprises[/i] investments, and their sometimes less-than-legal business ventures, of course. While the twins’ mother, Cassandra Pearce (née O’Brian), may be as naive as the rest of the world as to what goes on behind closed doors at [i]Helmsley Enterprises[/i], she is no less involved than her husband is. Cassie’s father, Joseph O’Brian, is the head Christopher Helmsley’s hand-picked legal team. As it happens, Cassandra and Pearce did not meet through purely random happenstance.

Cassandra and Pearce met in their early twenties, through the unknown intervention of their fathers. Falling in love came surprisingly easy, given what a handful of a personality Cassie could be. Latinas, man, they have fire in their blood, even if they’re only half! Cassie and Pearce married after a few years of courtship, and waited until they were almost thirty to have their first child. What was meant to be their first child, was actually a set of twins. Surprise!

Selena and Sean Sterling were quite the lively pair from the very beginning. Selena was colicky, and Sean took forever to potty train. Selena also picked up an arts and crafts hobby at an early age, coloring on walls, and gaining an unyielding obsession with glitter. Growing up, there wasn’t a day of the week that Selena wasn’t covered in [i]sparkles[/i] - earning her a family nickname, which was then brought to the school halls by her brother, and the name stuck among fellow students as well.

The rambunctious nature of their twins, and the very large task of raising two children of the same age at the same exact time convinced the Sterlings to put off having more kids until, probably never, honestly. Such plans worked… for a time. Fast forward to seven years later, when Cassandra thought she was too old to have any more children, and the Sterlings accidentally found themselves pregnant again. And, because fate can be cruel, and older women produce more FSH, they were blessed with yet another set of twins. Two sets of twins, seven years apart. Selena and Sean’s siblings, named Alistair and Amanda, are currently in 4th grade.

As Selena grew into her teens, she became no less girly. In fact, many might argue that she became more girlish! To this day, her bedroom is luxuriously decorated in delicate pink and purple hues, looking very much like something out of Barbie’s dream house, or an American Girl magazine. Taking after her mother — who works as a celebrity makeup artist and stylist — Selena started experimenting with makeup when she was just a child. Selena never had those awkward middle school makeup years, like some of her other classmates did, because Cassandra would never let her daughter look foolish in public, not with her own reputation as an artist at stake! What she did not learn from her mother, Selena was taught through her hobby of watching beauty gurus on YouTube. That being said, even without makeup, Selena is gorgeous.

Wealthy, stylish, and no stranger to rubbing elbows with actual celebrities - Selena fits in well with the rich, preppy crowd of the Beverly Hills High. Also being distantly related to Trixie, Selena naturally gravitated towards the notorious HOT girls. Most students in school know the pretty blonde junior that hangs out with HOT to be the “IT Girl-in-training”, and assume that she will be the one to take the reigns of the established bitch queen tyranny, by her cousin’s side, after Hailey and Ophelia graduate this year.[/color]
