Personality: Laura is sweet and kind. She likes animals and children and music and literature. She's funny, but not mean funny. She's charming, but not in a pompous, snobby way. Everyone she meets likes her, she's interesting. But she doubts herself; she's never been cool and she's clumsy, she's just kind of a dork. She doesn't trust or value her own opinions and constantly seeks approval. To everyone else she's great, but to herself she's not even near. Brief Bio: Laura comes from a big family. She has five other siblings, two older sisters, two younger brothers and one younger sister. She used to look after her younger siblings and she thought that one day she might be a teacher. As she got older, she became more interested in literature, and wanted to be a successful author. She's still working on things, the library job is just until she gets published. Other: She has a siamese kitten named Radish.

Name: Allen Hart Age: 19 Appearance: Tight curly hair, blue eyes, tall, lanky. Orientation: Straight Relationship Status: In the process of breaking up Occupaton: Student (interns at library for college credit) Favorite Books: Doesn't actually read. Personality: Allen is a little too caught up in himself, and a bit scatterbrained. He's confident even when he shouldn't be but rarely means any harm. Very intelligent. Lazy. Bio: Allen comes from a very old and very wealthy family, and is in his last year of college. He's set to graduate a year early and needs only the one credit from this internship to finish his degree.

Name: Joanna Blackwell Age: 22 Gender: Female Orientation: Straight Relationship Status: Single Occupation: Bartender Favourite Books: Lucky in Love by Carolyn Brown Personality: Jo is a really rough person on the outside, not at all lady-like but rather enjoyable to be around. She can joke with the guys, drink them under the table and even eat more pizza than they can but when it comes to girl things like shopping or primping, she's not so good at it. She's normally pretty easy going, but when someone crosses the line, she doesn't mess around. She actually really loves her job. It's exciting and she gets to meet a lot of interesting people. She tries to laugh a lot, displaying an outer image of someone who isn't bothered by what goes on around her. She comes off as rough and tough, with skin like iron. Nothing can take her down. She is cool, confident and brave. Brief Bio: Jo grew up with three older brothers. Needless to say she can take care of herself. Roll with the punches if you will. Her parents were pretty normal, her mom was a teacher, her dad worked in construction, nothing too crazy just ordinary people. She did pretty well in school, decent grades, played violin for a little while. When she went to college though, she was thrown into a world she wasn't quite ready for. She used up all of her money, and had to drop out of college in order to take more hours at the bar so she could keep her apartment. All in all, a pretty sticky situation. This semester she was able to afford two classes and is busting her ass to pass them all while working five nights a week at a rather popular bar. Oh, and the best part, her parents have no idea she dropped out to keep her apartment. Her brothers know, but she wanted to save her mom some heartbreak until things got a little better. Besides, she's a grown up, she can't expect her parents to bail her out of every sticky situation. Other: She has a huge tattoo on her back of a green dragon, jaws open wide, wings arching over her shoulder blades, blood dripping from extended claws, the whole nine yards.

Appearance: A withered old man with sunken cheeks and absolutely white hair that covers his head and creates mutton chops. He wears a think pair of glasses with black frames that are in rectangles over his eyes. He stands at about 5"4. His normal attire is composed of a pair of tan slacks with a belt, and a blue dress shirt. Name: Jonathan Cromwell Age: 65 Gender: Male Orientation: Heterosexual Relationship Status: Married Occupation: Retired Favorite Book: The Ingenious Gentleman Don Quixote of La Mancha by Miguel de Cervantes Personality: On the outside it may seem as though that Jonathan is a grumpy old man that hates everything equally. But if you took a closer look, you'd realize that Jonathan really IS a grumpy old man who hates everything equally. Always on the brink of contempt, he constantly mocks and belittles anyone he feels deserves it. The only thing he hates more than cowards who won't defend themselves is bystanders who don't intervene in conflicts. He believes that in today's society that people are encouraged to become nothing more than cowards or bystanders. If he has to be the one to force them to grow a spine, then so be it. He acknowledges that he's only doing a kind thing in a round about way, but he feels justified for doing it. Brief Bio Jonathan grew up in a typical loving middle class suburban household of the 50's. After High School he enlisted and dreamed of defending freedom from the forces of the obviously evil communist. The first life changing event for him was when he was drafted and deployed in the tail-end of the Vietnam War. There he witnessed what horrors humans could really see, feel, and do. When the US pulled out its troops he was declared unfit for further service in the military and discharged with what would later be diagnosed as PTSD. Life for him was hard until he met his future wife who would always be by his side during those years. He later got a career in manufacturing and retired in his early 60's along with his wife. Other: Continues to battle with the lingering effects of PTSD after all these decades such as feeling numb to other people and sudden emotional arousal.

Appearance: Shawn generally gives the impression that appearance is the last thing on his mind. His chestnut brown hair is grown out long past his neck, which he keep tied up in a ponytail with his hair pushed back from his forehead. He has a rather poorly shaven beard as well, with random patches of his chin merely showing signs of stubble while others have obviously just been outright forgotten. His has a triangular face with a wide forehead and a pointed chin, with gray-blue eyes that often seem to stare and wonder around room, with straight eyebrows, and always seems to have a slightly irritated frown. Stands up tilted and rather slouched at around 6 foot tall, with a lean, athletic and physically fit body. His clothes are often messy, usually just throwing on the first thing he pulls out from his closet. Name: Shawn Burnham Age: 26 Gender: Male Orientation: Asexual Relationship Status: Single Occupation: Construction worker Favourite Books: Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter S. Thompson, Catch-22 by Joseph Heller, American Psycho by Bret Easton Ellis and A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess. Personality: Shawn tries to be friendly and polite to people, but due to his deep-seated rage issues, this often proves difficult. He has always had a hair-trigger temper that he never, not once in his life, learned to control. This was always more out of a genuine lack of knowledge on proper social skills, rather than out of maliciousness and hatred. He just never quite understood subtle social queues or what is considered acceptable behaviour to other people, meaning that he can often be blissfully unaware of the nature of his action. When not factoring in his temper, Shawn just proves to be incredibly awkward, lonely, insecure, childish, and one big barrel of self-loathing, and a lot of his general rudeness isn't because he's an intentional jerk, but because he never talked to enough people to learn basic social etiquette Brief Bio: Shawn's upbringing and home life was positively idyllic -- he grew up in a middle class family in a reasonably sized two-story house in a relatively safe neighbourhood, his parents were more-or-less loving and doting people, and he went to wealthy private school where bullying was rarely a problem. All in all, there was no trauma or abuse that could possibly explain his behaviour -- yet to him, that just makes his rage issues more troubling for him because he's convinced that he has no-one else to blame but himself. In school, he always instantly shut down any prospect of friendship by accidentally saying or doing say something abrasive or rude, leading to constant isolation. At his younger age, he never quite understood why no-one liked him, as nobody ever actually pointed out his anger until his teenage years, and thus he never tried to adjust his behaviour, always thinking that it was somehow other people's fault. When he actually realized what was wrong in his teenage years, he was far too entrenched in how he acted to actually properly change anything -- it was all unconscious behaviour that he was only barely aware of. After he left home he found that he could never really get any job where he had to work with many people, and after a while searching, settled on being a construction worker, as he was always quite physically fit. He stills fails to make any real friendships and relationships, despite constant attempts, and often goes to the library after or in-between work.

Appearance: Short dark brown hair with deep, sad brown doe eyes . She's slim with a small build, a very pale complexion and high cheek bones. she doesn't wear makeup because she doesn't see the point, no boys give her attention anyway. She would normally be wearing a pale knee length dress and tights with boots and a big woolen jumper. Name: Rosa Nickson Age: (16+) just turned 17 Gender: female Orientation: straight Relationship Status: never been kissed (single) Occupation: she works part time as a cleaner in an old peoples because her mum is always too sick to go to work (hung over from going out with her friends the night before) and they will not be able to pay the bills if Rosa doesn't work Favourite Books: The brothers grimm fairy tales and aesops fables Personality: Quiet and untrusting. Her mother is a liar and lashes out at her so she has become very introverted and doesn't have any friends because she finds it difficult to let people into her life. She is still deeply hurt about her parents divorce and her fathers disinterest with her because for most of her life he was her only friend . Brief Bio: Rosa started out living in a happy family with her mother, Laura, and her father, Patrick. But everything changed after her mother cheated on her father with many different men on drunken nights out with her friends and one day Patrick just got fed up of it. He paid for everything, even funded Lauras drunken antics because at one point he did truly love her and he wanted to care for her and make the marriage work. But in the end it all crumbled away into dust. He moved away when Rosa was 14 and although he emailed her from time to time it is clear that he wants nothing more to do with his old family, he remarried a year later to a younger less rebellious version of Laura and the last thing he said to Rosa was that his new wife was pregnant with twins, that was 7 months ago. So with both family members replaced Patrick has no need for Laura and Rosa anymore and so they have to deal with life alone. So Rosa has to put up with her drunk of a mother and pretty much pick up all of her mothers responsibilities. She just needs a break and some good friends that will cure her loneliness but with her introverted personality people normally just give up on her because they assume shes not interested in them but she really is. she dreams of finding her prince and living happily ever after but as she knows, dreams don't usually come true.
