Though she figured that she had to have seen this sort of conversation coming, it didn't matter what else had happened since then, Daphne didn't exactly have a job anymore, so there wasn't really much point in her sticking around. She had been a little hesitant, but seeing the way her sister had reacted to Atticus' death, she knew that they should leave. "Well, there is no easier way to say this... But we're leaving," she said, figuring it best to just flat out say it.' Anisa stopped in her tracks and eyed Daphne for a moment. Pulling out a cigarette and lighting it up she took a longer than average pull from it. "I need a fuckin' drink." Dorothy nodded, still running her hands on the prayer beads. She had been thinking about breaking this news a bit more softly - perhaps with some sort of conversational flow into all of it, rather than going right out at it. But her sister was as blunt as ever and Dorothy just had to roll with that. "...Perhaps we should go discuss this in your office?" Dorothy asked, blinking slightly. She was still having some difficulty with holding back the tears over Atticus' death. "Sounds like there ain't nothin' to talk about. Sounds like you two done made up yer mind," Anisa said hotly, her cigarette hanging off her bottom lip. She nearly spit it out before tightening her lips around the butt and walking towards her room slash office. Stepping in she poured herself a drink and downed it quickly. There was a hissing sound as she swallowed before taking another puff from her smoke and blowing it out roughly, her hair flying back off her face. Hearing Anisa's words made her rethink them having gone to tell her instead of just quietly leaving, maybe leaving a note behind or something. Daphne was pretty sure that this wasn't going to be a very easy conversation either way, and sure, she probably could have gone about it a different way, but there wasn't a much better way to say it. Especially since it was clear that Dorothy wasn't going to just flat out say it to Anisa, or even start the conversation since she looked to be only part way there when it came to thinking about things. It didn't matter, though she hoped that Dorothy would know a better way to continue this conversation so one of them didn't end up shot or something. She fell silent as she looked over at her sister, before following Anisa. Dorothy followed Anisa into her office, feeling silly as the drink itself and the cigarettes reminded her of Atticus - but also of the best friend she was about to lose. She couldn't hold back the tears as they streamed down her face silently. "I'm sorry, Anisa," Dorothy said softly, her voice breaking. She kept on running her hands over Atticus' rosary. If she didn't have it there, she would have already gone into parade rest. Anisa's eyes rolled and rolled hard. She didn't even looked over towards Dorothy but gave a sideways glance towards Daphne for half a second. "Yeah, I'm sure you are." There was anger and hurt in her voice but there wasn't malice. "Let me tell you this though, if you leave every ship your sister gets fired from yer gonna be runnin yer whole life. Leavin' friends behind, leavin' people you call family. How long huh? Till yer debt is paid? Till she has to grow up?" Turning slightly Anisa shook her head. "You coulda taken yer punishment, got yer act together and been rehired but no. Just run. Keep running girl, thing is you can't out run yer shadow or yer past. I know, I've tried. Just do me a fuckin' favor, don't get her killed savin' you. She's better than that." Those words had motherly venom in them. Anisa snuffed out her cigarette and walked towards the door. She stopped just long enough to look Daphne dead in the eye. "So are you." Sucking it up as best she could because if she didn't she was about to sob like a little girl whos best friend was moving away. Walking off she gave a wave of her hand. "Get yer shit off my boat within the hour." Now she was a little mad, since clearly in her mind Anisa wasn't close enough of a friend with her sister to see the obvious. She had been willing to stick around the ship, for her sister, but seeing how she took Atticus' death, it had made her realize that they needed to leave. "Nice working with you Captain, but clearly you think that this choice was all about me, I was willing to stick around for my sister, I wasn't originally planning on running, but it doesn't matter much anymore the reason I have for leaving now," she said simply to Anisa's back, as she just watched her leave, before she turned to her sister. "Come on, let's get out of here," she said, before heading out of the room herself. "...It's because I can't be the second in command you need," Dorothy spoke up, not even caring that Anisa had already walked off but it needed to be said. "I can't be objective with my sister. I am a doctor and my focus will always be on that...I was a horrible second...But it's also because of Atticus...I loved him and I missed my chance with him..." She was about to say something else but her voice faltered. She didn't know if anything else she said would make a difference. "I really am sorry..." she then said finally, wiping her eyes on her sleeve. Anisa drew her gun and fired a shot off, it embedding right next to Daphnes head, she had just missed her once again. "Next time I won't miss, one more word, one more piece of attitude, one more eye roll and I will end the shit you put her through once and fucking for all." Anisa's voice roared from her in a way it never had before. There was an anger there that she had never felt, her face burned red from it like flames crawling over her skin. Tears welling up in her eyes she kept her gun pointed at Daphne, almost daring her to to one more thing out of line on her ship. Then she spoke, her words trembling as they came out. "You didn't have to be my second, you could have stepped down. I offered it to you because I lost Jackson. It wasn't an all or nothing offer so do NOT put that on me. This is you and this is her." Then there was a growl from her as she turned her gun on Dorothy. "Get off my boat, I'll ship your shit. You have five minutes." One could almost see the tension in her trigger finger, Anisa was on the edge and it wouldn't take much to push her over. Daphne just completely lost it now. Dorothy had considered Anisa her friend, and now her "friend" was completely turning her back on her. She pulled her own gun and pointed it right at Anisa, "You told me to grow up well guess what the hell I'm doing Captain! How dare you threaten my sister like that!" she snapped at her, glaring. "We are going to get our stuff, and we are leaving whether you want it that way or not. Plus, doubt Fitz will want to stick around with you because of your attitude, so he's coming too, got it!" Dorothy's heart was pounding and her vision was becoming a bit blurry from the tears in her eyes. She let go of Atticus' rosary, the beads falling back into her pocket. She cared deeply about both of them - even as they aimed guns at each other. She only had a split second to make a decision and she stepped between the two of them, blocking their shots. "St-st-stop it!" Dorothy pleaded, sounding like the nervous engineer for a moment. "Stop it, both of you!" Anisa drew her second weapon and pointed it at Daphne over Dorothys shoulder, keeping her other one pointed at Dorthy even as she moved between them. "Four minutes, 53 seconds to get off my fucking boat." Cocking both pistols she didn't waiver. "Go to hell Anisa, you don't like it when someone stands up to you, is that it? Well guess what, you have always called me childish or whatever, and now you get all pissed off if I act my age and try to protect someone I care about, well you just hit a brick wall," Daphne said, before with her empty hand reached down and managed to grab Dorothy's pistol. Raising it so now she had two guns pointed right at Anisa. "Really, mei-mei?!" Dorothy asked, noticing that her sister had taken her gun. She was crying and looked like a complete mess, but she was blinking quickly enough to keep her field of vision cleared and she pulled out the closest thing to a weapon she had - Atticus' Bible. Sure, it hadn't been meant for throwing but she figured all of that training would pay off eventually. "Mei-mei, let's go, now," Dorothy said, holding up the Bible as if it was some sort of shield. Anisa half froze, Dorothy was holding up a bible. A fucking bible to protect herself. The woman who had denied god far harder than even Anisa had was using a fucking bible as if it was her sword and shield right then. It started as a snort, one she tried to swallow down but she couldn't and this large, huge fucking guffaw ripped from Anisa the likes no one had seen. She hadn't 180'ed, she had completely flipped her lid so hard tears were rolling down her cheeks. It was the funniest thing she had ever seen in her damn life. The guns however didn't move. "Get...~laugh~...off...~chortle~...my...~giggle~...ship...~laugh~...now...~chortle~" The look on her face was probably one of the most terrifying expressions she had ever had. Daphne gave Anisa a strange look, but she could understand why she was laughing. Dorothy never seemed like the type who would hold up a bible to defend herself in any sort of situation. Daphne didn't lower her pistols either, but she couldn't help but giggle slightly at Dorothy with the bible. She was making sure she didn't let her guard down completely, but it was really hard to not giggle slightly at her sister. Dorothy stared at Anisa. While in a more rational mode she would have understood exactly why Anisa was laughing and would have laughed herself, she was still reeling from Atticus' death less than two hours prior. She didn't stop crying, holding onto the Bible with shaking hands. To her, Anisa's laughter could have also been at Dorothy's foolishness - to care for a man like Atticus that never ceased to indulge himself in the pleasures of the flesh, even the night before at the Lady Luck. "C-come on, Mei-Mei, let's get your boy toy and leave." Anisa was still laughing, it was getting more twisted by the second. Gun one, didn't fire. Gun two, didn't fire. Something did fire though. It was Anisa's mouth but it came out deeper, darker, and very much like an impression as Anisa quoted something Atticus had said everytime he threw a bible at Dorothy. "That's right the power of Christ compels you." "Fitz isn't my boy toy Dory," she managed to say between giggles. Hearing Anisa, it made Daphne start giggling even more than before. The fact that Anisa was quoting Atticus now was a little weird, but she hoped that maybe hearing that would cheer Dorothy up or something. Hearing her sister call Fitz her boy toy didn't help matters, and she was just looking at the two of them, still laughing a little. "No....But maybe he should be," Dorothy said, wiping her eyes. She couldn't help but laugh slightly as Anisa said that, but her heart was aching. "I was so stupid with Atticus...." she admitted, not clear if she was confessing that to her sister or to Anisa. "If either of you finds a fella...don't be an idiot like me," she then added. She was still holding the Bible like a shield, just in case either of them got trigger happy again suddenly. It was a time of mood swings. The laughter stopped and Anisa's hands opened as her hands fell. Thankfully neither of the guns went off as they hit the ground. She stood there for half a moment as she stared at Dorothy and mouthed a single word. "Jackson." Turning she walked towards the galley. "Get off my boat." Her words were dead as she spoke them, her mascara clinging to her cheeks as the heels of her boots clicked against the cold floor. She already had found someone, and she had just buried him. She was glad that Anisa had dropped her guns first, and lowered her own as she listened to Anisa. Daphne had no idea what that was about, but she handed Dorothy her gun back. "Come on Dory, let's get Fitz, and get out of here," she said, somewhat glad that the confrontation hadn't resulted in a shoot out of some kind. Dorothy nodded, looking in the direction Anisa had went. There was so much more she could say to her - but perhaps they would be best left unsaid. "Goodbye, Anisa..." she called out, letting the words hang for a moment as she just listened to the sound of the heels of Anisa's boots. She was going to miss that sound. She already missed the old crew. And that just it was the problem - you never know you're in the good old days until you've already left them far behind. "Yes, let's go get your engineer..."
