[b]Quirk Details:[/b] Kai's Quirk takes the form of two red, fleshy limbs with rounded ends that manifest from the back of his shoulders. The two 'arms' appear to be made of a special type of muscle that is able to shift between two different states of matter; Solid and Liquid. In their Solid state, they're extremely dense and strong, but the trade-off is their heavy weight and slow movement. They're only able to rotate at the base, and bend near the mid-section, hence 'arms'. In their Liquid state, they're prehensile, but also quite fragile, being more akin to tentacles than arms. Kai is able to manipulate their size and shape in this state, thinning the tips down to the size of a pencil, and expanding them to around the size of his torso. The true utility of the Quirk comes from the fact that upon shaping the tentacles in their Liquid state, Kai can harden them back into their Solid state for both offensive and defensive purposes. If one of the limbs ever gets destroyed, it causes Kai immense pain, but it eventually regenerates. Shifting between states of matter and rapid movement of the limbs is prone to drain his stamina quickly, and the limbs are sensitive to intense temperatures. Extreme heat keeping them stuck in a liquid state, and extreme cold forcing them to remain solid.

[b]Description:[/b] Kai is a rather lax, go-with-the-flow kind of guy. He’s not super built, nor is he a twig. He tries to make light of most situations, and does his best to see the good side of things. Though he can be a bit stubborn and outspoken when someone speaks ill of his beliefs, he mostly keeps his personal problems to himself, not wanting to drag anyone down. He's willing to take risks when he feels the benefits outweigh the risk, and holds confidence in his own abilities to overcome issues by himself when he needs to. That said, company isn't unwelcome in his eyes, always appreciating help even if he doesn't ask for it. Family has always been a big part of his life, looking up to his parents and brother for his entire life.

Kai’s early life was centered heavily around his brother, Junkei. He was even the one to give him the nickname ‘Kai’ in the first place. Being the younger of the two, Kai idolized his elder sibling greatly for his glowing confidence and gentle nature. The two did mostly everything together, reading manga, playing video games, playing outside, and watching Heroes on TV. Junkei in particularly always having a fondness for the acts of performed by the noble men and women in masks, and desired to be one himself someday. Going to far as to sew his own Hero mask and constantly spend time sketching his future adventures in his sketchbook. Kai himself did not share his dream of wanting to become a hero, rather wanting to follow in their father’s footsteps and pursue construction and carpentry.

After the fall of All Might, the crime rates in Kirisama City began to increase, causing some serious changes in the Mori brother’s lives. Their parents became stricter on home much time they could spend outside, and had little tolerance for them leaving their sight for long periods. Both Kai and Junkei quickly became fed up with the new rules, but were forced to deal with them anyways. Junkei’s resentment for criminals and villains growing by the day, mad that they enforced fear on people for selfish reasons. Things were about to get quite a bit worse, however.

The boy’s father, Bunta, was attacked on the way home from work one day. His arm getting broken and his wallet ended up being swiped by his assailant. The attack was the final straw for Junkei and Kai, the two storming to their room after getting back from the hospital. Junkei himself being a bit more peeved at the news than Kai, feeling that he had to do something himself. He told his brother of his plan to sneak out that night, and to find their dad’s attacker himself. Not liking the amount of risk involved with the plan, Kai begged his brother not to go through with it, the guilt reaching Junkei as he promised his brother that he wouldn’t leave.

Later that night, Kai awoke to find his brother’s bed empty, and the window left unlocked. He quickly raced to wake his parents, who after scolding him for keeping his brother’s plan from them, called the police to find their son. The police eventually settled on searching an abandoned warehouse known for criminal activity, finding nothing there but evidence of a brawl, and a bloodied shirt that the family easily recognized as Junkei’s.

Soon after, Kai fell into a deep state of depression. His unfocused mind constantly clouded by the despair of losing his brother, and the guilt he felt for not doing more to stop his rash and dangerous plan. Two years passed, and after digging around in the back of his closet, Kai stumbled upon his brother’s old Hero mask from when they were children. The sight of the mask reminding him of Junkei’s dream of wanting to become a Hero, and inspired him to gain a new goal: to carry on his brother’s memory, and become the Hero that he had always wanted to be.
