Watching this reunion was more proof in Manny's mind that the world could be a kind place if given time. Sure, he didn't know any of these people, not really, but just seeing them happy gave him more hope for the world. Most of the reunion was ended because the General figure was about to arrive. Manny was still nervous about this after hearing about how things worked here. With that sounded like a military dictatorship a lot of things would depend on who this General was. Manny still had a lot of trouble deciding how he felt about this place. The General wasn't anything like he expected. Sure he wasn't sure what he expected completely, but at closest, he figured an officers uniform, Someone who spoke sharply maybe. But this man seemed like someone Manny might have spend time with before the world ended. Soft spoken, calm, and overall very delightful. He spoke briefly of the history of the place, and he explained the fear of the first few weeks. Manny remembered those times well. The stadium, the parking lot, the times that followed. That first woman outside his office. The way her head tore to pieces from the buckshot... It was dark times for everyone. He can only imagine what it was like for those here when things broke out. Manny had protection from the national guard for a few days, but not long. He wondered what this place was like in the early days, everyone here trying to fend for themselves. From the looks of things, they pulled through above and beyond. The man's speech was impressive, Manny felt like this was someone he could follow and trust. Manny felt that this man was just what he needed to meet to trust this place. Sure, Manny would need to see how life was here once outside of quarantine, but meeting this man, the man in charge, It was just the boost Manny needed to believe that this place wasn't a military dictatorship. That some form of regular life could take place. It was a good start and Made Manny happy. When the General left, it was time for everyone to go to their rooms. Manny made his way out to his room. Seemed that Ash or Hunter hadn't made their way in yet. The room was simple, Manny had seen plenty of them in his years and this seemed about the same. The exception being the lock that will be keeping them in their rooms tonight. Manny was tired, chatting with Ash was going to be pretty low on his to do list tonight. He was an old man who needed his rest, and for the first time in what seemed like forever, it was a real bed. He sat himself on the bed closest to the door and found himself dozing off fast. God, he missed real sleep. Hunter's experience with most officers tended to be on the negative side. Most reminded him of his father on his worst days. Others ordered him to lock doors with people behind them and open fire when he didn't want to. This man... seemed noting like most officers he had met. This man reminded him of his first lieutenant. A calm man with a warm heart. Though as he didn't look like the man that suffered from eating the barrel of a Beretta Hunter guessed they weren't that much alike. Though meeting the man, Hunter was given the sense that maybe this place wasn't too bad. The General, an old man who resembled a sweet grandpa, spoke of the early days. How hard they were for everyone. Hunter couldn't deny that. The early weeks for him consisted of his first, and only deployment in the National Guard. It was hell, every step of the way. And never really got better since. The speech was motivational none the less. He still had more he had to decide about this place. But that would be for a later day. Once the speech was done he got up so he could go to his room. Room 4 was his. Shared with Manny the old man, and Ash the Captain. Two beds, and the door locked from the outside. Fun. He took the chair and used his bathrobe as a blanket. Before he sat down to sleep he moved the chair so he could see the door from where he got comfortable. Not far, just a couple feet towards the main walkway. Then he sat in the chair watching the door. Waiting in case anyone barged in. He would nod off eventually, but not for a while. He wanted to be sure everyone else in the room was asleep, no matter what, he was exhausted, so he would be out in about an hour and a half. He would have more nightmares, but without Izibell to help him out of it, he was in a quiet panic through the night. Never yelling, but clearly upset. This was a new place for him, and a place he was scared about it's future. He was worried about his dog, and he was stressed from these new people. He just needed to make it a week, then he figured he should be fine.
