I'm not much a fan of GM's who hand hold their players throughout the whole story. Where's the fun in running a game if there's not at least one moment where your players make you go, "oh shit I didn't prepare for that." In short, I'm thinking of giving you guys bread crumbs that you can choose to investigate, if you so desire. But if you want to ignore all the socio-political drama and just go on fun ship rides destroying random planets - that's fun too.
