Floyd - Railroad Tracks - Jessalyn/Lynn/Skullmam(Grimm) "Who do you think you're talkin' to girl? You had your weapon pointed at the Skullman here yourself, so don't come judging me. I'm protecting myself as you protect that child!" Floyd angered, pointing at the baby barer. She was a young girl, probably still in her teens. Having a child in this world was basically a liability. A child's mere cry would call forth all the walkers in the area. This was the reason Floyd preferred being alone, because in his mind, it increases ones survival rate. The Skullman himself seemed to have the same thoughts because he vanished on his beast. So now it was just him and the child barer Jessalyn. Floyd pulled his bow away and packed his arrow back into the quiver strapped to his waist. "You from around here girl?" he asked Jess as he walked side to side, looking back at Lynn making sure she didn't come back to surprise him with a bullet to the head. "And where's the father huh? He get bitten? Or did he just leave after all this shit went down?" --------------------- Day of the Incident "Breaking News! The epidemic known as 'the zombie virus' has overrun the streets of Washington. The president is being escorted by military personnel and will most likely be taken to a safe bunker. We are here outside the white house, watching the helicopter take flight. This is a live broadcast! Oh wait, I think the pedestrians are approaching. Oh wait! No! NOoooo!..........tschhhhhhhhhhh......" "Freakin' radio! Damn rich folk ripped me off. Shit!" he yelled as he smacked the radio off the wooden log he was currently sitting on. He was in the woods outside of his cabin building a fire to get lunch started. He had just hunted down a wild boar and was preparing to cook it. He had already skinned it completely and couldn't wait to eat. With a brief blow, the fire was aided to start. The red flames created sparkles in his eyes as he watched the fire burn brightly. He hooked parts of the boar-meat to sticks and laid them close to the flames. Suddenly, the radio static paused and the emergency broadcast sound turned on. Floyd turned back to the radio, getting a tad worried by the sound. "The following message is transmitted from request of the NOPD - New Orleans Police Department. Several authorities have issued a warning for the following: Henderson Mary, at two thirty five pm, reports from East Counties, has issued an outbreak of highly contagious virus. Some reports claim the outbreak started in the East Counties Lakeland Medical Pavilion site hospitals. Symptoms of this virus include: Loss of coordination, confusion, and eventually, certain death. Reports have also claimed that those infected have acted out in an extremely violent behavior. Citizens are extremely advised to avoid anyone with these symptoms. At this time, these counties are under quarantine until further notice. As a safety precaution, Eastern Counties are advising citizens to stay in their homes until the situation is dealt with. Stay tuned for further details as they follow" and then the emergency broadcast sound returns. "What the hell is going on out there?" Floyd questioned himself. Without wasting time, Floyd went into his cabin to pack. He was near the East Counties and was not looking to be infected by such disease. If the 'news' were telling the truth, soon his entire location would be breached by the infected. He put out the fire beneath the boar-meat and packed away some canned foods along with water into his bag. He would remain in the woods, but camp out somewhere else. Farther from the city. He took the radio with him, but kept it silent until he figured out for sure what was going on. He was basically in the outside world, so everything that went on in the cities of New Orleans, he did not know. Sooner or later, he would have to go into the city to find out one way or another.
