I did not notice Sam's sudden silence. Instead, I was too busy making sure all of the buttons were the same on the dash. 

"Okay, here we go!" Slowly, I pulled out into the road. Once we were coasting, I put down all the windows. "Now let's see what this baby can really do!" I started to speed up, feeling the wind whip through my hair.

"Woohoo!" I opened the sunroof and stuck a hand out. This was what I needed. Pure distraction.

"Isn't this awesome?!" I nudged Sam with my elbow.
