In the beginning, our characters would be weaker due to the resurrection. Over time characters will get stronger but out of the gate, it's more or less their experience that makes them valuable at this particular moment. Magic is based on your character's spirit or life essence. Exert it too much and it will start aging your character. Pure liquified mana can be used to an extent, think of it as an energy drink or a triple shot coffee. Certain equipment such as staves, rings, etc... May be used to help channel and focus energy around the caster. Magic is most common in the elves. Humans it still happens but it is rare and they have their own clicks so to speak that they keep to. Dwarves oh hell no but they can forge magically enchant items. (This applies to mages all the way to clerics/paladins.) I will try to make a map here soon. Elves are long-lived, think about 5000 years if the circumstances allow it. Most common magic users and most lethal now users. Warriors favor elegance and grace over strength in close quarters combat. Dwarves typically have a life span of about 300 years. If they reach that age that is. Dwarves clans typically fight with one another for greeted or power typically. Best blacksmiths by far. To the south there are barbarians that typically keep to themselves but have a great kinship with the elves. Tribal but ferocious. With heights averaging at seven feet tall and clad with muscle. There are a few small factions a of Drie and orcs that have allied themselves with the 'good' races. Smaller in nber and mostly nomadic.
