Basically what Potemking said. Just that any events that would have happened in the games by now have happened. Don't need to include them in the CS if you don't feel the need to, just remember that they have happened.

Timeline wise, it's the modern timeline for the most part but with lots of adapted parts and a bit of custom stuff. So not too many worries there.

I will be honest, I've never been the most keen on the Archie Parents. Like obviously the characters have some kind of heritage, they had to have families at some point. And while they have their moments, they never really fully clicked for me.

That aside though, the backstory just wouldn't work too well as it is. There wasn't any great war between Mobians and Humans before Robotnik took over the world in the classic era, at least in this timeline. And the whole off-planet war seems... just a bit far fetched. It's definitely not a no, but would definitely need a bit of work to make it work.
