Despite this, it was home to a prestigious pokemon professor, Professor Elm. The day seemed like just about any other, the sun shone brightly through the streets, and soft breezes blew threw the trees, rattling leaves, and billowing the occasional set of loose clothing. The weather was warm, the sky was clear, the bird pokemon were singing, and all seemed well in the town. But out on the edge of town was something different. Something unusual. A tall blonde man stood next to a tree on the road out of town, his jacket getting blown around by the aforementioned breeze. He had a scowl on his face as he scanned his surroundings. People who passed by pointed and talked amongst themselves as they slowly began to realize the man by the tree. It was none other than the reclusive champion, Isaac. Many would also recognize the equally tall Blaziken standing next to him. It was his original partner pokemon, Kick. He was far more sociable than his trainer, and was what most fans of Isaac ended up chatting with, even if Kick couldn't communicate very effectively. Many kept their distance, whether out of disinterest, fear, respect, spite, it didn't matter much to Isaac. Those who did approach were often turned away by a scornful glare. But as he waited, there was a question on the people's lips: why was he here? What did the champion trainer of Johto want with a little town like this? While the knowledge that Isaac would be taking on the gym challenge yet again was fairly well known at this point, there were little to no details known about where or when his journey would start, or who even won the drawing to travel with him. "I can't believe I'm actually doing this..." Isaac muttered under his breath as he put his fingers to the bridge of his nose. There was a short squawk of reassurance from the Blaziken next to him as the two continued standing. He had arrived pretty early, mostly just because he had nothing better to do at the time, and as such had been left waiting for over an hour for his "traveling companions". The thought of having to take care of two other people already filled Isaac with annoyance. They were probably too excited for their own good, or were going to bombard him with stupid questions. At least they weren't the paparazzi. Which, strangely enough, he hadn't seen any of here. Was this place too out of the way for them? Were they more focused on the professor that lived here? It didn't matter much to him. The peace and quiet was nice while it would last, though he knew that at just about any moment it would be ripped away from him. Isaac began tapping his foot impatiently as he waited. If he was lucky, he could just use what was on his original team and blow through all of this in no time, and he could go back home.
