[sub]Zachary, the eldest of two, was born on a farm surrounding the town of Sanctuary to parents that both wanted him to continue the Snypes legacy of barley farming. Zack, however, had other plans growing up: he wanted to be a mega rockstar. He wanted to be the next Prince, the next Mick Jagger, the next [i]anybody who's anyone[/i]. Most of his earlier years were spent listening to classic rock, the 2000s wave of pop-punk, and metal before finally getting his first guitar when he was 13. He was a decent academic in school, but skipped quite a few days practicing his music. Unfortunately, both of his parents died when he was 20 in a tragic tractor accident, leaving him with the farm to manage. He ultimately decided to sell all of the farm equipment save for his family’s ancestral home. 

Before his parents’ untimely demise, he had dreamed of going to Denver and trying his hand at the music scene though, but instead he decided to stay in Sanctuary to support his sister, Emily, through high school. The money he received from inheritance and from selling most of the farm has earned him and his younger sister enough to live out the rest of his life at ease with a modest lifestyle. He manages to make a meager living by performing at the bars around Sanctuary, posting YouTube videos, and sometimes even slips into Denver for a real show. One day, he hopes his music will touch the hearts and minds of people, but for now, he is content in this dumpy little town.[/sub]

[sub]Emily, or just Em, was the princess of the Snypes family and grew up on her parent’s tailcoats. There wasn’t anywhere that Laura or Adam Snypes could go without their daughter following them, so much was her love for them. Where her brother was the multi-instrumental talent, she was the academically inclined one with a penchant for computer science and mathematics. This worked in her brother’s favor, who quickly persuaded her to be his “audio engineer” and even coaxed her into learning drums. 

At school, she was mostly a loner and often bullied for her small size, academic pursuits and geeky interests. Instead of ever confronting them or telling anyone about the situation, Em just endured it. When her beloved parents’ passed, it was devastating to the then 14 year old Em, who, despite Zack’s best efforts, couldn’t take the pain and the pressure. Her grades started to suffer and she no longer had any drive at all. Skipping school became common, and Zack selling most of the family’s land resulted in a permanent resignation from school by the time she was 16. Her feelings festered into hatred for the family that had bought up the land. She didnt know how she would do it, but she quietly began to think of ways to ruin them. 

This first started with some attempted cow tippings in the middle of the night, which was met with immediate failure due to her small stature. She then opted to steal a rake from the family’s shed instead. Then she stole a shovel. She stole many very menial things in the grand scheme of things without being caught, but in the moment it helped deal with her issues. Even though years later she's stopped the wanton theft, she still harbors quite a bit of hate toward that family. 

She doesn’t really have a path in life yet and she’s not really sure she wants to exist outside her bedroom. Em still codes, still reads, still has all the academic brilliance, she just mires herself in depression and loathing.[/sub]

[sub]Lily was born into abject poverty, the only child of two drug-addled parents, Sidney and Billy Barker. Her childhood home was a destitute, rundown trailer just on the edge of town. Her parents fought day and night when they weren’t blitzed out of their minds, and the young Lily had to figure out how to fend for herself most nights. She’d make the long walk to school, back and forth, and when her parents fought, she’d hide under her ramshackle bed and read books. Fantasy novels became her escape, her love, and her true passion. Some nights she would even hide overnight in the school’s library just to plunder the depths of the literature hidden away there. Anywhere was better than home, anyway. At least here she had books, and she even made friends with Tommy Fischer and Levi Brooks! A hopeless romantic, her fantasies gave rise to a truly deep and long lasting crush on Levi, the embodiment of every cool male protagonist she’d ever read about.

In high school, her father went to rehab, but her mother left them to join some drug den in San Francisco and Lily hasn't heard from her since. She tried to act as a mentor to anyone that needed it and picked up an after school gig as a waitress to make ends meet for herself. Her want for Levi never ceased, at least not until their Senior year. Scared she might lose him after they graduated, Lily professed her love and adoration to Levi, only for him to laugh at her, brush it off, and then try to bed her. In that moment, Lily’s heart was ripped out of her chest, along with any confidence she had ever had in herself. She was devastated, truly and utterly, running from Levi in ruins. Her depression saw her retreat from all social activity except work for nearly 2 years, when she was finally able to recover and live again. 

Since then she has achieved her dream of becoming a librarian at the Canyon Crest Academy, and she has even bought herself a small trailer. Her job doesn't pay well and she lacks many luxuries in life, but she doesnt think she’d ever leave. Lily now tries to bring joy to the people of Sanctuary where she can, often going out of her way to bring someone up or make them feel welcomed. [/sub]
